Jennifer, You have to be your own best advocate for Plastic Surgery. When you have the Plastic Surgeon submit your claim to insurance be sure that letters from your Priamery Doctor and Bariatric Surgeon are included with it. Medical Neccesity Letters and one from you explaining in your own words why you should have these surgeries. Tell about your day in class the way you told us last week. Don't be so discourged. If you want this to happen it will. You just can't get let down by results and answers you haven't even received yet. Get your ducks in order and then there are always appeals if you need to. peace Mo

went to go see the chiropractor- didn't want to even hear or listen to the talk of NEED of the removal of the excess skin/fat or breast lift- he said- i could strengthn my core and help me back without the surgery. but my primary dr is the best person to discuss that. i don't have 6 months of the rashes documented- just 1 or 2 from RNY dr- none from primary. GOSH do i wish i had gone in every time I had a rash... i'm not sure if insurance will cover it- my back/shoulders and neck HURT all the time- i just know it's from the extra weight in the front.. I just want to cry.. I do have an appointment at 8am on may 24th to see a plastics.. but i doubt i will qualify for insurance coverage jennifer

Topic: Gonna get my chance
Well, I said I wanted to be an inspirational speaker and now I'm gonna get my chance. I'm going to speak at the OH event in Detroit! A dear friend of mine runs the surgical program for one of the sponsoring doctors. She also runs one of the support groups I attend. Anyway, she sent out an email asking for volunteers to give a short speech about their WLS experience and I said I would. Today she confirmed that I am on the list of speakers and my name would even be in the program. Quite frankly this is something I would have never dared to do pre-op. All I wanted to do then was hide in the background.(behind a VERY large tree) Gotta come up with a 5 to 10 minute speech about my experience. Time to summon the writer in me. I wonder if I can make it rhyme? Hmmmmmm......

Hi Andrea! & say hello to Peter! so good to hear from you.. I also got rather postive feedback from my Plastic Surgeons regarding a Breast lift.. They seem to think insurance denial can be overturned in appeal with enough medical documentation..So I have to get all my ducks in a row and see what I can do do facilitate this... I wish you so much joy with the upcoming wedding.. take lots of pics of you guys together and post some..! be well chickie! peace Mo

Topic: Salutations!
Hello all- Apologies for not posting lately. I have been incredilbly busy. I switch companies a month ago-- I left pharmaceuticals and went to work in BEAUTY. Pretty funny, huh? I am not doing market research (same as previous position) at Avon. Still in NY, but entirely new industry to learn so I have been crazy. Between the new job, Peter moving in a few weeks and the wedding, I haven't had much time to check in. I just went and caught up on all the posts! Mo, congrats on the milestone! You are an inspiration, as are all of you on this board. The wedding is at the end of July. We are having a friend of my father's (he is a judge) marry us in a restaurant and then staying for lunch. Honeymoon is in Aruba for six days. My pooches are doing well. They miss Peter when he is not here. I call the little one, Nick, 'the traitor' because Peter is now his favorite person. He loves to sit on Peter. I got approved for a boob reduction, but I would still have to pay for the TT and the boob lift. With the expense of the wedding, I decided to postpone the surgery for a year or so. With all the anxiety, the weight has crept up.I've gained about 7-10 pounds which really aggravates me. I know what to do, but years of eating when stressed is a hard habit to break. I finally bit the bullet and signed up for a personal trainer again (I had stopped it 8 months ago) so that I could get my butt into shape again. I start in 2 weeks. Anyway, I hope you are all doing well. Lots of love, Andrea

Pam- First of all, it's wonderful to hear from you, although I wish the cause was for better things. Unfortunately, I don't know much about this type of complication. How are you now? Know that we love you and support you! Andrea

Tim- Wonderful post! Hmmm--- Tieing my shoelace on the street without sitting or kneeling. Being able to walk up stairs. Crossing my legs Painting my own toenails (still like the pedicure though!) Fitting in a bus or subway seat!
