Enjoying my renewed life... Marge and I went to Virginia Beach last week. This was our first vacation without the kid(s) since our 25th in 1995 (Puerto Vallarta). We had a wonderful, relaxing time. The seafood, in very small quantities, went down fine. The highlight was the Boardwalk Arts Show where we bought a few pieces. We are planning a trip to Chicago in July to see a dear college friend we haven't seen in 20 years. I'm going to schedule my 2 year follow up next week. I stay within 5 pounds of 212, a 110 pound loss. Like many, I read the board daily but respond less. I'm looking forward to wedding pictures from Andrea and Peter. Dave

Sounds like your doing a GREAT JOB! I still think back to when we all first started this jourey and never in a million years would I have ever thought that I would lose over a hundred pounds and here today I'm hanging in around 120 lost still weighting in at 165 but considering I was 280 day of surgery and 315 at my very highest I will take it.

I'm here. I come everyday and look to see if anything has happened but it looks like we have "lost" a lot of people. It might be to it being nice outside and now that we all have so much more energy were outside but I wish that people would post more often. I know that I'm guilty for not posting but nothing really new is going on. I'm down 120 lbs and my 2 year appointment is in 3 weeks. My daughter graduated from high school and we had her party last weekend and I stayed away from the cake, and beer! Didn't want to dump in front of everyone. Now we are getting ready to send her off to collage. I don't know where the money is going to come from but $30,000 per year and even after all the scholarships she will still have to come up with $18,000 or so. I guess that I why the have loans. So that is all that is going on here I still don't take my vitamins, or drink my water unless you count the water that's in coffee I have 3-4 16 oz per day that's my new craving but at least it's not candy and junk food. So how is everyone else doing?

i'm going to be naughty and not do my 2 year follow up.. because- all of my followups- she just basically poked my tummy- then said- i needed to lose more- and sent me right to the dietician- which in turn said my eating we could try this way- then that way- and nothing changed.. anyway.. i'm not slacking off that's for sure... i am gaining- but i know why- i'm in constant pain from the back- i'm trying to exercise- treadmill etc... slow walking- but longer walks... as much as i can stand.... jennifer

I had my 2 year follow up with my bariatric surgeon today. He went over the blood tests I had done last week and just a general exam. The verdict is....I am doing GREAT! All my tests came back excellent! I weighed in at 215 lbs, a 215 pound loss. I'm half the man I used to be and twice the man I was. My doc also asked me if I might be interested in coming to the informational seminars and talking to the pre-op patients. I said I would love to. I've gotten so much out of my WLS, it would be a good thing to give a little back. How's everybody elses 2 year follow ups going? If you don't have one scheduled then call your doc and set up an appointment. Get your blood work done! It's the only way to make sure you are healthy and getting the most benefits from your WLS. We all went through a lot to lose weight and get healthier and now's not the time to start slacking off. Take care and God bless! Tim

Hi Jennifer! I think summer is such a busy time of the year, and now that we are all a little more mobile and out in life, we have less computer time. But it's sad too. Miss my J-05 friends! Hope you get the approval for your plastics. I am starting that journey after July 1st when we get a new insurance company at work.

Hi Mo! Yes I agree with you about the summer heat being so much more bearable that in the past when we had that extra weight on. I used to keep my air on in the house all the time and my son told me "you could hang meat in here". Now I am the one moving the needle up when I get chilled. Who would have thunk it? We are having rain rain rain here and finally today we have sunshine! Feels so good. I did hear on the news that in Arizona it was 115 yesterday. Malibu, don't melt out there! Our insurance at work is changing to a new company July 1st so I am anxious to see about plastics when I find out who the new carrier is. Fingers crossed!
