Hi Mandie honey,
I have been meaning to write to you so many times. Life has been getting inthe way so often for me. I'm sorry. But I think of you often and always hope you are doing well. I check your profile every once in awhile to see how you're doing.
I am so very sorry you're going through this sweetie! Man, being stuck sure sucks big-time. I agree, you should get yourself checked out. There could very well be a reason for this. And good for you for kick starting yourself again. That takes so much courage and determination. That's awesome! Write to us as often as you can hun. We're here for you and will give you as much encouragement as out there. I wish I had some firm advice for you. But I don't have anything you don't already know. Protein first, wait your hour & then drink, drink, drink.
Take care hun. Let us know if you find out anything, and keep posting! We're here for you!
{{{HUGS}}} and much love,
Lisa

Saturday I met the new in-laws to be, Sunday and Monday I Bumpershoot.
My daughter (24) and her boyfriend have been living together for 3 years. They both live in a college town about 1-1/2 hours north of Seattle. Since it appears serious, I asked for his parents phone number and e-mail, and I planned to ask them to join us from Christmas to New Years in Las Vegas. So, after a couple of e-mail exchanges and a couple of short phone calls - we met. They are very nice folks. However, the whole thing just cracks me up. My daughter is not a risk taker. Her approach to live is very conservative. She has fun, but not in a rollickin' kind of way. Her boyfriend, Robert, is also very conservative in tone. He always wears kahki's and a polo shirt. No jeans. He walks very, very, straight (you know the phrase, a stick up your a.., well, he walks that way). So, I was so surprised. His parents look like bikers. They are ex-bikers. He work the black jeans, red tee-shirt, black suspenders and the black leather vest. She wore blue jeans. Cracked me up. Made me wonder out loud how we got such conservative looking kids. He, Robert's dad, answered that if he hadn't seen his son being born he would have thought the kid was switched at birth. By the way, they turned out to be very nice people and it was good to finally meet them. We've invited them for Christmas to New Years. It appears they'll join us on the New Years end of things.
Today and tomorrow we Bumbershoot. Every Labor Day weekend there is a music and arts festival in Seattle. Lots of bands, both national and local acts. We wander from venue to venue, listen to music, dance if we want, eat some, hang out in the sun. We have tickets for today and tomorrow.
I'm enjoying life a lot.

Topic: Sunday Weigh In
Good morning. As of today I've been one week without diet Pepsi. I really miss it.
I didn't intend to give it up this week. The first day I didn't have any, buying a bottle (20 oz plastic - so convenient) just didn't fit into my schedule. In the evening I had a headache, and it has been a while since I've had a headache, so I took pain meds. The second day, towards the end of the day, I got another headache and took more pain meds. When trying to figure out why, I remembered, no diet Pepsi. Well, since I was already into the 2nd day of my "normal" 3 day diet Pepsi withdrawal period, I decided to go cold turkey. Drinking water instead has been good for me. I've also upped my iced tea, so I haven't given up caffine completely.
For the week, I took off the weight I put back on. My Sunday low was 189 and I'd gone up as high as 194. Today I'm back to 189. I've decided I need fewer "snacks" and working on cutting back on the non-protein parts of meals. Still working the program in my way, not perfectly, but getting closer to it as I get further down the path from surgery.
Start - 330
Today - 189
Lost - 131
Have a great weekend.
