Topic: RE: Hmm...surgery getting easier:
I felt that way about my WLS. Three years before me, my friend had the same surgeon, same procedure, same hospital and was in surgery for 3 hours and her scar is a good 6 inches long. 3 years later, I go to her surgeon, same surgery, same hospital and I was in surgery for 1 hour 20 minutes AND my scar is less than 3" long!! At my one month follow up I asked why and he said that he doesn't know why - they don't do anything differently, etc. It even amazes him! As for the incision - he said skin stretches differently - guess my skin was more stretchy.
Sorry you're bored, but you're home to recoup - so rest up and take it easy!! Glad you're feeling well.

Nan,
I know you are probably over your cravings, but they will come again!
I had this surgery so that I could live and enjoy life! That includes food! I don't deprive myself of anything. If I want it, I eat it. I just control portions -- which are gradually getting bigger!
Anyway, I do find it interesting though that my cravings have changed to more healthy choices. I also have found that when I think I can't live whithout that Little Debbie cake or whatever, that I don't enjoy it, I usually feel ill afterwards, and that cures my desire for them for a while! Inevitably I'll probably try one again..... I'm a glutton for punishment.... but this is normal. Pre-surgery I would have eaten the whole box.
Anyway -- hope you are feeling better!
Love ya!

Tim,
It's so hard to look at your beautiful smiling face on here and imagine depression at all. I completely understand though! Scott and I are still in the same situation. Just sitting here waiting on ANY news! It's driving us both nuts. Meanwhile Scott is having to train his replacement. This coupled with his mother's death has put him on edge. Thank God he doesn't bring his work home. He's a good man! I wish others would recognize his attributes and get us out of here!
Hopefully this new recruiter will help you out. Meanwhile, keep busy and keep your chin up. It'll happen! I KNOW IT!
God's perfect timing ya know? It's just hard to see it right now!
Love ya babe!

Topic: Join ME in Lexington! Oct 27/28
Hello,
I'm excited to report that I'll be at the Lexington event coming up on October 27 & 28. :horse:
I've had a few questions asked about the convention and wanted to make sure everyone knew the answers. The conventions are not just open to post-ops. This is a time for pre-ops, post-op, undecided, new & old members to the family to come together for support, but also most importantly, to meet real people. Many people on the boards have known each other for years and get excited to be meeting for the first time. EVERYONE is welcome and the more the merrier. This is open to all people, spouses, surgery types, etc. We are just as excited to meet new members, as well as older established members. That's how you get to know someone - you come out to meet them. So you all are invited! :jump:
If you have any questions please let me know and I'll find the answer if I don't know.
The event on Friday night will consist of a Masquerade ball and social time. So be creative, I don't know what I'm going to wear yet. :ninja: Costume's are optional, casual is fine.
We hope you will make this special event, we will be having a vast variety of speakers. Also some other many SPECIAL guests! For a full line up of speakers, schedule and to register by going here:
http://obesityhelp.com/events/october2006_lexington.html
If you register before the 27th of September both days are $85.00.
I look forward to meeting many new friends and old!

Topic: Hmm...surgery getting easier:
Had another hernia surgery this morning. All went well. I went in at 730 and was headed home by 1. It's a little spooky how quick and easy some of these procedures are becoming.
I'm taking a couple days off from work, so I'm just hanging out at home catching up on some email and watching dvd's.
God I'm bored, I think I may have traded my food addiction for work now. It's like I'm going through withdrawal today from work.
Anyway I hope everyone is doing well.
