Topic: RE: another Plastic Surgery
I dont have the breast thing to compare it to but I must agree that the TT was very painful. I had my ab's tightened along with the TT and they are still a little sore (and it will be a full year in 3 weeks). Meanwhile my hernia repair still hurts when my cat steps on it. I had my drains in for 4 weeks because the hernia just didn't want to stop bleeding.
You should be fine at work as long as you remember to take it easy and don't lift anything more than 5 pounds. Good luck!

Here I am, one week post plastic surgery. Good god, that was rought!
I got approved for a breast reduction by my insurance and decided to take a medical loan out and get the tummy tuck down as well. So I sit here tucked, reduced and lifted in a mu-mu (discgusting). I hope it is worth it-- For those of you who haven't done this yet,the breast isn't bad but the TT is a ***** Do others who have had the TT agree? When do you start feeling better?
I am supposed to get the final drain out on Monday, and if I look beyond the swollen mess, I think I am going to be pleased. Right now, I am worried about being able to function when I go back to work next week.

Tammy-
I am glad to here that you are OK. Just remember, you have made so many steps in your life. It's possible that without WLS you may not have had a minor heart attack. Good for you for quitting smoking.
As someone who has been diagnosed with heart disease (clogged arteries) since they were 32 (and I was a non-smoker), let me urge you to read up on heart disease as much as you can. It is really important that you take charge of your heart disease as you move forward, and make sure your cardiologist and WL surgeon talk to you (for example, they may want you take Aspirin for your heart, but that in counter for WLS patients, so the physicians and YOU need to be very involved in your health care choices.
On the plus, side there is tons of research and new research in this area. Please fee free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns!

I had three leg drains for 10 days. Normal - well, that's a little harder to define. I stayed in a MuMu in the hotel room; but I got back into regular clothes the day I was discharged from the hospital. It took some work with my three drain tubes but I found the easiest thing was to pin them up to my binder with safety pins. I could have easily gone back to work for 1/2 days during my second week but I took the full two weeks off from work. My tummy still feels "tight" in a odd way....did you have an anchor TT or just a lower bikini incision? The problem area that I had was cleaned up last week and the doc stitched me back closed so I still have to watch the lifting. I still wear my binder and girdle panties....they somehow make me feel better - like they hold my guts in so everything doesn't "pop" open
I'll try to take some new pics soon and post an update.

Maria-
Your tummy tuck pics look great! I had my tummy tuck on the 19th and am still in a Mu Mu with one drain. How long did it take to feel normal again? I am supposed to go back to work on the 2nd but am worrying that I may not be up to it fully.
