You have no idea of how many times I have checked in on this board just to see if you had posted and how you are doing. it sounds like things are fantastic for you! 15 pounds is not bad, I have actually gained about the same. I had a surgery last year and was unable to work out for about 5 months and my lazy butt has not got back into it. What is going on with your job? Sounds like it must be good if you can not take time off and money is not an issue. That is great news too. What is going on personally with you? Anyone special? Hugz, Nancy

Topic: Revision Surgery
Hi July surgery buddies. I just had a revision from an RNY to a vertical gastric sleeve. I had stretched my stoma and pouch and had virtually been in a stall for over a year. I lost about 135 pounds with the first surgery. My surgeon said we will see how I do with this and if necessary will do the DS in six to 8 months. Since I am retiring at the end of this school year and insurance will be questionable after that it will probably not happen. My surgery was last Tuesday and I am down five pounds already so I am thrilled. It is wonderful to have that glorious tight feeling once again. Glad to see some of the old faces are still around. I check everyonce in a while but haven't posted on this site in ages. Glad to see everyone is doing reasonably well.

Topic: Hi all...plastics final update
Hello to all of my July 05 friends. I see the old board has been a hotbed of activity. Oh well, just as guilty here as anyone else. I had my final follow up with my plastic surgeon today, 17 months post op on my tummy tuck. Everything is just great. Scars are fading nicely and all the numbness is now gone. Now the next decision is if I do any other cosmetic procedures. I could really use a lower body lift (saggy thighs) and the sides of my chest done. Cost for these procedures are $14,000 and $6,000 respectively. The money I could probably swing. It's the time off from work that's the hard part. Maybe I'll get laid off again! Anyway, I hope everybody is happy and healthy. I have been doing pretty good. I have gained back about 15 pounds though. My doctor said that is pretty common but i am still unhappy bout it. It seems like I can eat a lot more now than before and that is a dangerous thing. At least with the warmer weather I can get back ouside and start digging more holes. I just finished putting in another sidewalk at my house. I have now replaced every square inch of cement I own. Now it's time for a new lawn. OH is having another seminar in Detroit at the end of the month and I am planning on attending. The one I went to last year was a lot of fun and I highly recommend going if you get the chance. Sign in with a reply at the end if my post! Say HI and send me some love! I miss you all! Love Tim

First I would talk to your doctor and see if they can offer soem support also and I find that when I attend my support groups and see people face to face that I'm much better about what I eat and what I'm doing. I'm not the best person about what to eat because I drink coffee and a lot! I would rather drink coffee then eat, but as of this morning I'm on a liquid diet to try and get back on track. I was eating choc to make myself dump so I could go to bed at night. I know that personaly my blood work is not where it should be and I'm trying to work on it. I'm not hiding food like I did before surgery, but I was finding myself sneeking it when they kids were in bed or not around. I think that since you have relized you have a problem that is the frist step but I would still talk to your doctor. I know this wasn't much help but the board is dead and people don't respond like they did years ago. Good luck!

Hi To All: I have been off the board forever, but I am having a situation I know I need help and like spirits to help me with as others don't have a clue as to what I'm saying. Here goes. I lost 105 lbs. I eat more than I could before surgery cause I eat often. I have held the weight loss, however I never craved sweets before and now I think of chocolate first thing in the morning and all day long. I can't do meats very well so therefore I eat to many carbs. I know I need to drink protein and I can't count the mixes I have bought and thrown away. HELP SOMBODY! and I know its unfair to ask cause it's all up to me to stop. I thought maybe some of you have experienced this and won. Since I didn't keep up with the board I thought I might have missed it. I didn't hide food pre surgery but now I hide chocolate. Thanks for listening. Cill

Topic: Doing Fine - Checking In
The board certainly is less active, and I haven't checked in for months and months. I'm still thrilled I had the surgery. I'm still down 110 pounds from where I started. It almost feels normal now, like this is the way it should be and not "abnormal". I've been retired from my government job for over a year now, but doing the same work I once did as an employee as a contractor. I expect this contract will end this year, but it was nice while it lasted. (Victim of a re-organization, but it appears it worked in my favor.) I play soccer once a week, and thinking now that the weather is getting better maybe I should bike to work. I don't really have a lot to say, things haven't changed a lot -- but it feels GOOD to wear normal sized clothes. Still married to the same guy (27 years now). Looking at what the next career choice should be when this gig ends. Having fun with life. I think of you all, wondered if anybody wanted to do an anniversary get together this July, maybe back in Vegas? -Pam

I am just returning to the board. I havn't even checked it for a couple of years. I was just looking around and read your reply April 18 to Vickie. My heart truly goes out to you. I know you are in pain. (It sounds so lame when I read what I've written) but I will remember you in prayer and send you good thoughts. I hope your kids understand you and are helpful and supportive. Topic: RE: TT and Hernia repair over and home with drains
I am investigating surgery for over hanging flab on my stomach. I was dianosed (spelled wrong) with a hernia a few years back. Dr. said it was like runs in a nylon and I would need a screen thing put in to repair it. Do you have any experience with whether this is a hernia that would allow me do get the flab off at the same time. I understand it is so hard to get insurance to pay for it. My primary Dr. said I should document infections in folds of skin to qualify but I spray with jock itch every day do I don't get infected and shower lots. I also don't want the pain of having infections under my stomach and pubic areaa by letting myself get infected. thanks in advance. Any one else have any experience to share?

All I have is time on my hands now. The doctor put me out of work for good. I sit home day after freaking day. I am still hanging on to 100 lbs. I might jump to 105 from the swelling from the anorexia and bulimia. I have been in and out of rehab god so many times I can't tell ya. They get me back up to 108 then I come home and stop eating. The doctor told me last Wednesday I was already dead inside and I was working hard on the outside. OH WELL. I did it all to myself just to be skinny. Gotta watch what we wish for. I am into a childrens size10. and a jr.0-00. My hair is very thin. My finger nails are falling off. My teeth are chipping. My son is 22 and lives out on his own. I still have my 16 year old. She is wanting to get married. OH HELL NO.. not unless I die..........He is a good guy. He helps me more than my own kids do. He takes my trash to the curb and goes picks up stuff from the stores. I can't be around many people at one time or I black out with panic attacks. So I sit home in the dark with my dark trash bags over the windows, I am sorry if I let any of you down. Wish I could have posted what a wonderful, happy life I am having but it would be a lie. But I am very happy for you all that are doing well. Amy
