He's getting paranoid

My husband has always been an average sized man. He changed jobs about 6 months ago and instantly packed on about 20-25 pounds leaving him with a poochy gut. It was amazing how fast he packed it on...like within two months. I have NEVER mentioned it. After all-How could I? He put up with my fat @ss for years without a single word. For awhile he didn't seem to care about the extra pounds, but now that I don't step out of the door without my "A" game on (nice clothes, hair, make-up.....ya know, the whole enchilada), he's getting a little paraniod. He wants to join a gym and he's skipping snacks/meals to drop weight. It's cute really! He's getting all concerned about how attracted I am to him. So this is my question....Has your significant other felt pressure to get into better shape or inspired to lose a few lbs to "keep up" with you? Just wondering......... Channan

Funny you should mention it, C! Mine is the opposite - he's eating a ton of food every day - well, no, not a ton, but candy bars and onion rings and such - things he didn't eat regularly before.... he's always had a lean strong build - but getting a little beer belly now.... it's almost cute. almost.

Oh that's just what every man wants to hear. "Average sized".....no wonder he's worried.

Average......well I'm always looking for an upgrade. Know anyone? JK!!!!!!! My mother-in-law was recently telling me how much more "endowed" my husband was than the other boys (two brothers) when he was a little kid. She told me this in front of my husband's sister and his brother's wives. They looked at me with a bit of jealousy!! Now........Don't get me wrong. My husband's not going to win any bar bets, but he can "hold his own"........and often does! Ohhhh.....I kill me sometimes!!! Slap and tickle, C

I'm no longer with the boyfriend I started this whole journey with. He and I just both couldn't handle all the changes I was going through. We weren't right for each other anyway. My new boyfriend (been dating a few months now) has definitely put on weight since we started going out. The problem is that I still view food as comfort, so I'm always feeding him. I have a huge bowl of candy out all the time, I have his favorite ice cream and snacks in the fridge, etc. I want him to be happy, and food unfortunately still = happy for me. It was so funny the other day. He got on my scale because it sits in the hallway between the bathroom and the kitchen. I heard him yell an obscenity. I guess he's up to 181 (he's only 5'10") and has never been that high before. Poor guy! I need to lay off the candy! Lauren 281/132/130?

No, he is, however, doing other things. He now says that I am "stuck up." That all I think about is myself. And he has a pouchy too. But the rest of him is thin. Stuck up? Can you believe it? Anyone else having this problem?

Actually, mine has made several comments recently about needing to lose about 20 pounds. Because of my DS, I can eat lots of fat - and I do - because why wouldn't I, right? The problem is, he's eating what I eat - and he's got none of the benefits I have LOL. Of course, he's also getting super paranoid about men in general - but this I expected. Whatever. I just wish he would get a job already so he could worry about something other than me! Sharon

Hubby is getting nervous about the attention from other men too. I don't know what to do about it though......when they look....they look! I just reassure him that I'm not going anywhere. That's all I can do. C
