Plastic Surgery in My Future - Documentation
So, my husband and I are at the beach in Hawaii and we start talking to another couple. I'm in my SIZE 12 swimsuit. The woman volunteers to us that she had gastric bypass and is getting plastic surgery soon. I tell her, I had weight loss surgery too. She tells me she knew I had. She said she could tell by the drapey skin on my upper arms and upper legs.
If knowledgeable people can tell I had WLS just by looking at me, for sure plastic surgery is in my future.
She did say that everytime I had a sore, or a rash, (she called it fungal growth) under my breasts or on my tummy or in any of the creases - instead of treating it myself - go to the doctor. Start the documentation that will help the medical insurers decide that the plastic surgery is needed. She stated that once you are going under the knife for one thing, adding another doesn't cost much. She is a nurse and a case manager and works with these types of issues.
Alicia, (not our July Alicia) if you are out there, thanks for sharing the information. You are looking great.

I went to try on clothes today-- This is my Sunday ritual-- The problem isn't fitting into the stuff anylonger-- It's how I look (particularly in the summer stuff-- I have these flaps of skin that are below my armpit to the upper back-- strapless not an option; sleeveless not an option-- what the hell am I going to do this summer. I didn't think it would bother me, but man does it-- It's worse than the stomach, in my opinion- because clothes hide that flab.
awful-- How the hell am I going to pay for this crap!
I'm freaking out about every little flaw!
I've been hitting the tanning booth and the self tanner to "hide".......well....."camouflage" any and everything. It worked to some degree, but I won't be happy until you can bounce a penny off of my ass!.......and belly......and arms..........and legs. Get my drift?
I will probably take a second out on the house to get it done! It's that important to me!
I know this is vain of me....after all, my husband doesn't care and he thinks I'm a hottie already! It's all me. I want this to be a complete transformation! The weight loss is only the first half of the equation!
Andrea, you and I and Pam will be discussing this on the plastics board someday! See ya there!

You know, I don't think it's being vain at all. The weight loss is only the first half, like you said. If you can swing it, I think you should get the plastics and be the hottest you can be. You won't regret it- and what a legacy for your grandchildren, you know?
Me, on the other hand-- I don't think I'll get plastics. Hell, I'm 48- what's the point? It's not *that bad*, and I look fine with my clothes on. I'm sure someone would notice if I was wearing a swimsuit too Pam- but it just isn't that important to me.
Michele - you are just a kid. I'm 52.
Today, I wouldn't get plastics. But with the other 70 pounds I'm planning on slowly/eventually losing to make it to goal, with the "hanging" I'm doing now -- I think I'll need to have it done for hygiene's sake as well as looks. And, I'd like some "c" cup boobs. I'm sick of DDD, F's and G's and .... A gentle bounce when I run, not hit myself in the eye with the boob.
