Well herei sit with another surgery under my belt and let me tell you I have had 3 c sections the wls appendix, and this is by far the worst I have ever felt, It was sooo painful and I REALLY can handle pain, but I have just sat and cried at times, when the surgeon got in to my incesion they opened me up on the exact wls scar the full length, and I had a medium hernia and then a huge hernia and my bowel had gotten caught on something and then stuck on top of itself, I was suppossed to get out the same day and they kept me 3 days because my blood pressure was so low and the first 24 hours I couldnt pee, they tried all kinds of things to help me pee and nothing so after over 24 hours they put in a catheter and emptied my bladder and then I started being able to slowly go on my own, now I cant, eat I dry heave I feel like Im pregnant because I cant even stand the smell of food and I cant drink coffee, and that has never been a problem, this is just so terrible and Im scared that something else is wrong, from how I feel but if any one says surgery to me again I will scream! vI also kept running a temp, and after all this I stepped on the scale and no weight loss, Im beginning to really regret what I have done to myself, Im sure if I ever heal Ill feel different but Im sick of being sick and sore, this is the first day I have even opened my lap top, and I was so happy to see some postings for me, it really helps to have kind words when your feeling down, well thanks all of you for always being around and I hope you are all doing GREAT on your wl...lol Lisa M J

Lisa.. sorry to hear about your pain right now. But Thank goodness you had those hernias repaired. It's quite possiable that during surgey you had lots of IV fluids going in to you and the bloat and weight gain you might have now are just temporary side affects of the hernia surgery. Maybe now that you have also had a possiable obstruction to your bowl fixed your weight loss will pick up as you have been hoping. You have been through a another major operation, I wish you well and hope for a healthy and speedy recovery. peace Mo

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I had hernia surgery a couple of months ago, with a stricture, so I can relate. You will feel better in no time. When I had mine I also stayed in hospital for 3 days and noticed a short increase in weight (I think this was because of the IV fluids) then after that a steady loss. Make sure you follow the surgeons after care directions, I know I did because I certainly didn't want to go through that again. Good Luck and I'm glad you back home. Pete

Lisa I am so sorry you had to go through this, but grateful as well. A bowel obstruction is nothing to sneeze at and can cause death, so I am glad it got taken care of for you. The weight you are holding onto is most likely water weight form the IV's and you will be peeing it all out in no time. Like Peter said, now that this stuff is over with and as long as you follow doc's orders, you will be back to losing in no time. Prayers for quick and uneventful healing coming your way. Lisa, I was just about to shoot you an e-mail since we hadn't heard from you when I saw your post. I'm so glad you made it through surgery darlin. I know you are in hell right now. Your body has been through a lot in the last 8 months. You are on the road to recovery though and I'm just very relieved that you took care of this problem (hernia). I agree that they pumped you full of fluids and that probably accounts for not seeing any drop in your weight. Hang in there girl it HAS to get better, right? C

I'm sure you are sick of being sick and sore. But you are better off now than being sick and getting worse. Think of how far you have come, how much better you will feel.! BE STRONG! You have a family here to support you, just remember that always! Love you and we all LOVE you and pray for a quick recovery, Nan
