Nana Linda - MIA???
Marlize,
I have been on OH, but I guess I haven't been on the July board for a while. My mom is better, but she still has a lot of limitations because of her back. My dad is still in the nursing home. I keep hoping he will get to come home soon, but it's not too promising right now. He will be 86 in early April, and I totally hate the thought of him spending his birthday in a nursing home.
Early in February I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The good news is that it was caught VERY early and was a less aggressive form of cancer. I had a lumpectomy on 2/13 and went back to work 2 weeks later. They got all of the cancer, and my lymph nodes were clear. This is all fabulous news. I started taking Tamoxifen on 2/27, and I began radiation this week. I have to go M-F for six weeks. As I told the therapist today, after tomorrow I will be 1/6 of the way finished. I don't have to do chemo, and I am extremely grateful.
I have a new mission in life. I am aggravating any woman who looks like she might be 40 to make sure she has had a mammogram within the last 12 months. Mine was found on an annual mamm, and I am so grateful. I think it is awful that 1 in 5 women in the U.S. will get breast cancer. We have to be proactive with all aspects of our health and have annual exams and mamms. Okay, now I am carefully climbing down from my soapbox, so I don't hurt myself.
You are dong so well. You look fabulous. I am down 105 lbs. and very pleased and grateful about that. I am still exercise impaired, so I am not doing as well as I could be.
I can now shop in the Misses department in stores if they carry size 18. Not all do, but I plan to have a field day with catalogs real soon.
I'm sorry this is so long. I promise not to be MIA again. It's too hard to catch up.
Linda
