Girl Scout Cookies - A Product of Satan?
Just kidding. However, I wanted them. I bought them. The sweet little girls came to my door and I bought the rest of their stash to put into the freezer. Did I? Nope. I put them on top of the microwave where I can see them all the time. I ate them. Not all of them, yet. End result - up 4 pounds in a week.
Today they go into the freezer or into the trash. They go out of my vision.
I wish I could blame it on my husband, but he hasn't touched them and he didn't ask for them. His weakness is potato chips and wine - neither of which call to me.
Have you noticed if you graze on Girl Scout cookies you can eat more of them than if you just sat down with a couple, ate them, and got it over with?
More than you wanted to know, right?
Seriously, dealing with a lot more compliments and comments than I have in the past six months. I haven't been this weight since high school, and then I wore a bigger size. I expect when people get used to this size, it will stop. I like the compliments - however it sets off some contrarious rebellious thing in my head and a little self sabotage.
I'll work my way through, and restart the weight loss. if I don't, back to counseling.
Thanks for letting me share. I'll add this one to my profile journal. When I look back next July I'll think - yep, I was there for a week or two, but I'm past it now.

Pam~ my neighbor is a girl scout and we bought three boxes about three weeks ago. Those damn Samoa cookies are the death on me, but have you notices the calorie content? 1 cookie = 75 calories!! It would take me 45 minutes of serious running to work off three little cookies. Once I did the math I stayed away! I sent them to work with my hubby.
As far as compliments go--Bring them on baby! I'm making up for several years of being completely ignored or put down by the opposite sex. Not that I'm out trolling for men, but I get compliments on my azz all the time now! I love it! I flaunt it! I crave the attention! I'm the attention ***** remember!! I find it very encouraging and it helps me stay the course.
You are doin great girl!

Nope, didn't even look at the labels. Samoas are 75 calories each, no wonder I went up 4 pounds. I don't know why they called to me so. The thin mints are 35 calories each, which doesn't sound so bad until you eat a box in three days. The Samoas I ate in two days.
They are in the freezer now. Since the freezer is the chest style, and my husband often puts stuff on top of it, I won't be able to get into it easily. I'm hoping I'll forget they are there.
I wonder why I can't just throw them away or take them to work (my normal way of getting rid of stuff. My mind is playing tricks on me.

I could have written that statement myself. What is up with this? I have stalled big time and I think it really has to do with self sabotage. Gotta get my head on straight!
Thanks for posting this and letting me know I am not alone.

A lot more than 3 of you out here!! I have mine all in the freezer. The bad thing is that my son is a boy scout and so he sells popcorn (which is very pricey). Three months later all of my friends who have bought his popcorn are now calling their daughters are selling cookies. You can not just buy one box when they spent 15 on popcorn that you were selling. Long story short, I have about 18 boxes of cookies in my house. I have brought about 5 or 8 to work so far, gave one or two more away and have the rest in the freezer. The good part is that I am going away for the weekend in a couple of weeks. I am going scrapbooking for the weekend. Everyone is required to bring snacks for the group. I always bring my girl scout cookies because they are an instant hint. I just have to get through the next two weeks and all of the cookies will be out of my house!!
Good luck
Nancy
Hey Nancy,
People LOVE girl scout cokies~So maybe you could give them away like little friendly gifts or Thank You's.
A good alternative--I found "Zone Perfect" bars and ....OMG!!! The Chocolate caramet clusters tastes just like a candy bar. It's even soy protein so there isn't that weird whey flavor and I swear they must use real chocolate on the outside. None of that carob chocolate flavored stuff. Sugars ar 14 grams-if you dump. Try them out...yummy!

Uh, I bought 4 boxes of Caramel Delites and swore I was going to send them to my sister for her birthday.
Did I? No. They are in my cupboard, unopened at this moment. I have not had the temptation yet. However, I was a brownie, girl scout and cadet when I was younger, and my Mom was a Cadet leader.
Seems a shame to give the little sweet girls money and not get cookies in return. Last year, I bought 10 boxes. A 6 box improvement this year.
Still, I am chicken to open them. So maybe I will, maybe I won't.
I am glad to know I am not alone in the Girl Scout Cookie issue.
Thanks
