Second post today but had two subjects. I have lost 75 pounds Surgery date is July 27th. Anybody else out there a slow loser. I'm soooooo happy to have lost this much and it has not been a horrible jounney but so wish to get on down. I'm still a 22/24 size as I was 305 pounds to start. Sure would like to hear from others in like boat. Congrats to all others though I am soooo happy for your rapid weight reduction also!

I had surgery about 9 days before you did, and I am down 81 lbs since my surgery date (from 282 to 201). I was 299 before surgery; I lost 17 lbs in the two weeks before surgery, trying to make my liver a more convenient size for the surgeon. At 5'2" and 299, I wore a size 30-32 and my butt was as big around as I am tall! I now take a woman's size 18. Anyhow, I haven't lost much more since surgery than you have, and while I concede that others have lost faster, I don't consider our rate of loss slow by any means. I suspect some of those speedy people of being tall, male, or otherwise advantaged. And some folks lose quickly and stop losing sooner, and others lose at a steady pace for a longer time, it seems to me. If we are eating as instructed, exercising regularily, drinking plenty and taking our vitamins, what else can we do? Every body is unique. Nevertheless, I'm determined to get down to at least 150 and hopefully 133, no matter how long it takes. Take heart, Priscilla, we are awesome, and we will get there ... eventually.

Hi Priscilla, I had surgery one day before you and have lost 81 pounds.. and yes compared to others it seems slower than most.. but I am still very happy with my results.. The day of surgery I was 259 and today i am 178 and still 53 pounds from my goal. I am 5 feet tall. I have actually noticed and increase in weighloss the last few weeks as I have added 2 protein shakes into my eating.. one for breakfast and one at about 3:00pm when the snack monster attacks... And I have noticed an increase in the weightloss.. One thing I have not done yet is excersize consistantly..my body craves it now but I just havent taken that plunge yet.. I'm sure once I do that will help with the weightloss as well.... We are about 7 months into our lifetime journey.. so just be proud of what you have accomplished to date and don't worry about your weighloss because worrying won't change anything anyways... keep up the great work and just think about all the things you couldn't to before and focus on those instead of a meaningless number KEEP POSITIVE>> YOU ARE DOING GREAT!! Hi Everyone Yes I am back from the beyond Slow loser is my weigh of life. I started out at 262 day of surgery 238 today 158 My total weight loss is 104 HURRAY but o 80 lbs since surgery. I will take both numbers and scream through the streets and jump for joy. . I have weighed the same amount for over a month up and down 2 or 3 lbs. I can chose to let it make me crazy or take every pound I lose with a sigh of relief that I am one more step towards goal of 150. At this rate it will probably take me a year to lose the 9 lbs but this is ok too. It takes what it takes Scale going down is always good for me. Hugs Pam

I'm a slow looser too, -103lbs Thursday and now -100lbs as of this morning. I've only lost 5lbs this past month and its really discouraging, but slow loosers will win the race too!! I weighed 318lbs day of surgery and I'm tall ... so I'm supposed to be one of those people that loose fast right?? Oh well, even if it takes me another 9 months to get to goal (155-160lbs), I'm really happy with where I'm at. I get compliments everyday and healthwise I feel great. Besides, I think you are doing great and looking good!! We just need to keep our heads up and eat healthy (although its not always as easy as it sounds!) I really do have to exercise though, its so hard to get into the habit and I really have no excuses!!!! Good luck and thinking of you!! M.
