PLEASE help me suck it up!
Ok, I have these godawful braces and I can't eat a thing without going into major pain spasms. I feel like SUCH a big baby. dammit. my kid got these and sailed through the experience and here i am popping tylenols all day and rubbing anbesol on my dang gums.
So, please tell me NOT to go to the doc tomorrow and beg him to take em off. Tell me it becomes easier. Tell me I will be able to chew again. I REALLY need some positive reinforcement from you former brace wearers!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love ya,
Nan
Nan~
Haven't you given birth? Raised children?
Didn't you survive major abdominal surgery?
Aren't you a CEO?
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!
I never had braces, but I hear it's like breaking in a pair of shoes. Just give it some time!
Don't have the doctor take them off, but if you continue to experience pain, there might actually be something wrong.
I'm sorry that you are going through this.
Come here sweetie........there, there now...(((((Nan)))))
Feel better? No........go take another pain killer!
Loves,
Channan
Hey Nan~
I have never had braces, but I am here to listen anytime you want to vent! Wish I could give you words of wisdom, but as far as braces go.........I don't have any! But here is a saying I made up...........The grass always seems greener on the other side.......but remember your grass isn't dead! Kinda weird I know, but truthful! I agree with Channon, you have made it through so many other bigger things, you will get through this too! And you will shine on the other side!!!!!!!!
Love ya Nan, feel better!

Nan-
You can do this! I had braces (twice) and it sucks! It totally will be worth it. Unfortunately, everytime you go, he will tighten them a little more-- So you will be sore for a few days after you see him each time.
It does get better--
Hang in there!, treat yourself to a massage to take your mind off the mouth.
I too had braces, twice.
1. It does get easier.
2. You will be able to chew again in a couple of days.
3. Tylenol is your friend. Next time take some as you walk into the orthidontist's office to get them tightened.
4. In the future, even tightening won't be as bad as now. Your mouth gets used to the metal (or plastic) and isn't irritated as easily. It'll just ache a little with the tightenings.
It is worth it, honest.
