Hi Pam. I just wanted to post to say that I too am 5'7" and weigh 178. I am wondering if that's about right (at this stage) for our heights like Michele had mentioned. I wouldn't worry too much. My girlfriend was at a BMI of 35.8 when she had surgery and it's not coming off very fast at all. She is 4 mos post-op and has lost about 40 lbs. Please don't get discouraged, you're really doing fantastic!! Saundra

Your percentage of body weight is calculated as: Starting weight 258 (minus) current weight 195 = 63 pounds Starting weight 258 (minus) goal weight 160 = 98 pounds Take 63 pounds (1st #) and (divide by) 98 pounds (2nd #) = .64 .64 (multiplied by 100) = 64% I hope this helps. Kim S

HEY HEY YOU HAVE ALL LOST A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF WEIGHT!!! Don't forget it... IT is better to lose slowly and give the body time to catch up with the changes it is going through. Plus under 250 - to reach goal or lose 100 pounds in six months.. I think it is better to lose slower. I started at 276. I felt like a slow loser too.. However, I am at a 93 lbs loss.. I am adjusting and not going to let the amount of everyone elses loss get me down. THIS is still a personal journey. We support each other! ALWAYS KEEP POSITIVE.. excercise helps- my weight slowed when I hurt my knee and could not keep walking and excercising. Fluids+ protein + excercise = LOSS! IT WILL COME OFF.. you do have stalls and then all off a sudden the scales moves. It is the bodies way of rekindling its engine. LOVE YOU ALL- very proud to be part of the losers... hugs Pattiann

You are not alone I am still struggling too ever since the month of November. I have gone up instead of down and I called to see my doctor to see what is happening. I thought it was a number of things but you know you can only do so much. I do it all, drink the water, do the excersice, watch the food, drink the protein daily. What else do we do, be more patient? I know I am sounding a little sarcastic but I am so unhappy with my weight loss. We all know we have struggled and then after this big surgery to struggle some more was not what I was expecting. I was down to 211 in November and now as of today I am up to 222. I have high hopes of losing some of that weight again but it doesn't look too promising. I am logging the food as I was told and the excersice. They had me do blood test on Monday and now I have to wait for results. And then the doctor will see me to tell me whatever it is he has to say. I feel like hiding in the mean timebut I know better. Well good luck to all and sorry for the venting.
