Eating on trips
Hey all ...
Well Im taking the plunge! After 6 months and shedding 130 pounds Im rewarding myself (and my DH) with a trip to Jamaica! We leave next Tuesday the 8th. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas as to food while Im away. Im a bit leary of being in a foreign country with the food & I plan on taking alot of protein bars with me ... any hints would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks guys!!

A friend of mine is a travel agent, and has been all over. She told me that when you travel, to eat things that are fully cooked. Like meats and what not. Stay away from salads, or fruits, because sometimes they have bacteria in them and you dont want to be spending your days in the bathroom!! or worse, throwing up! Stick to fully cooked meals!!
Make sure you post pics of your vacation!! Im actually going to Jamaica in April to get married! I cant wait! What part of Jamaica are you going? We are going to to go Negril. Have a BLAST!!

I LOVE Jamaica! I've been there 4 times. Not since my WLS but I leave this Sat. for Cozumel. Jamaica has GREAT food! Jerk Chicken is always a hit and lamb is big there. I'm not a fan of lamb but it's a good protien source! I've never gotten sick in Jamaica and eaten just about everything. If your staying at an all-inclusive they'll ususally have spot cooking stations for breakfast where you can get cooked to order eggs/omlettes and so on. I'm taking with me on my trip my beef jerky, trail mix and my profect 25g protien drinks. I don't think i'll have a prob finding good protien sources at the resort. I'm so excited I can hardly wait! Have a great time!
