Its been awhile....
Hello, fine folks! It sure has been awhile since my last post. I guess its been 3 or 4 months. I have checked in from time to time.
I am doing well. Had my 6 month check up with the Dr. and He said that I am doing very well too. Down from 244 to 150 now. 94 lbs! 30 more to goal. And for the first time in my life I can truely say " I can do it and I will."
I can not believe it. How nice it is to do the simple things again with out giving it a second thought. I can now fit in to theater seats, sit on the floor ( and still beable to get up without help ) to play with my son, walk the mall with out getting out of breath and the biggie is crossing my legs!
I was just wondering.... what has has been the biggest changed for you? Or now that we are 6 months out, what are you looking forward to doing? Just wondering.
I wish you all well.
Donna P.
Cool, good for you!
I have noticed a number of the same things. Walking up stairs, being able to sit on the floor with my pups and actually be able to get back up again, Oh! and my ass fits in an airplane seat again!
I am starting to train again for a cycling event. I am looking forward to riding in this years RAGBRAI (Register and Gazette Bike Ride Across IOWA). Should be fun!
Kimberly,
Yes, life is good. It sure is good to cross my legs. I told my husband that crossing my legs was one of my first goals. Now I don't sit down with out doing it.
My goal is coming up fast. We are going to Disney in May. I should be at goal by than. It will be the first time that I can ride any ride that I want. Not just the ones with the "larger" seats. I am looking forward to enjoying the rides with my son.
Best of luck to you. Thanks for the reply!

Donna,
I can't pick just one. Hmmmmm!!! I love the stairs thing! I work in people's homes and I would get sooo embarrassed when they would ask me to come up stairs. I would get so winded and I could tell that they were embarrassed for me. It was a huge factor in deciding to have surgery!! I can fly up the stairs now-no problem. I love that I can cross my legs without any effort. I will be flying this weekend for the first time post-op. I avoided flying for several years. I would not have wanted to be the one stuck sitting next to me on a plane as I spilled over the seats!!!
I'm in the best shape I've been since high school and my rear-end just gets better and better looking all the time. Humble--I know!!! This is the only place that I get to brag about myself, so I take full advantage!!
Come around more offen! We'd love to have ya!

C. Leigh,
Brag away baby!! We all have the right. Look at us, we are all looking good, feeling good and getting healthy!!
I too have not flown in awhile. I wouldn't want to sit next to me either. I hated going places like, sporting events, Nascar, shows or plays. I just didn't fit. And people knew it. No one wants to see me spilling over. I still have a problem with stairs. I have and always did ( even before getting big ) have a problem. One flight is not bad. It takes my breath away so badly. But it has become easier. It might just take me a bit longer to master it.
thanks for the reply. Best of luck to you!
