Tough Questions... are ya game?
Ok, here are some harder questions if you are still game to play... I'LL ANSWER MINE...
1.) WHAT WAS THE MOST AWFUL MOMENT YOU CAN REMEMBER IN YOUR LIFE?
When I was 13 I invited my entire class to a birthday party and only 2 people out of 26 showed up. My mom and I had spent the morning stringing popcorn for games, setting out cake and ice cream and so forth.. I was devastated. Sometimes I think I became so strong inside because of things like that.

In college, a professor in my women's studies class - Dr. Barbara Smith made me look at life with new eyes. I'll never ever forget her.
3.) IF YOU WEREN'T DOING WHAT YOU ARE TODAY, AND HAD NO LIMITATIONS WHATSOEVER, WHAT WOULD YOU REALLY BE DOING?
I'd be in musial theater or an artist living a bohemian life!
4.) WOULD YOU HAVE MARRIED THE SAME PERSON AGAIN KNOWING WHAT YOU DO NOW?
This is a hard question. SOmetimes I think no... but I know in my heart it's a yes - we ar emeant to be together to learn from each other.

Periods. period.

The moment my baby died.
2.) *****ALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN HOW YOU THINK ABOUT THINGS?
I really don't think there is one person that has made a difference, I think it is several. Either by realizing I did or didn't want to be like them.
3.) IF YOU WEREN'T DOING WHAT YOU ARE TODAY, AND HAD NO LIMITATIONS WHATSOEVER, WHAT WOULD YOU REALLY BE DOING?
I'd also be in musical theatre, or playing concert piano, or be a famous country singer.
4.) WOULD YOU HAVE MARRIED THE SAME PERSON AGAIN KNOWING WHAT YOU DO NOW?
Yeah, probably - I'm pretty stubborn. I'll usually try things twice before giving up!
5.) WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING ABOUT BEING A WOMAN? (OR MAN?)
Periods definately! And all the emotions that go along with being a woman.
6.) WHAT MAKES YOU YOU IN 4 WORDS?
My choir calls me "The queen of wing!" LOL That's four words! Seems like my plans always fall apart at the last minute and we have to "wing it". So that's my title! I feel like the queen of wing in a lot of different aspects of my life.
7.) IN 5 YEARS, WILL YOU BE HEALTHIER, STRONGER, HAPPIER OR ARE YOU AFRAID YOU'LL GO BACK TO OLD WAYS?
I think I'll be happier and healthier. I don't plan on going back to the old me!
Hi Kimmy!
You and I need to go see Wicked on tour and hang out, huh?
I think answering these questions made me realize just how much we all can *take* and still survive and be wonderful moms and women and business owners and volunteers and friends.
... and most people who answered #7 here and on the message board (main) http://obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/postdetail/1743338.html?vc=0 are all positive about the future. Good stuff. Smart men and women!
Love ya,
Nan
Okay Nan! Quid pro quo!! (spelling?) You're just trying to show me up with your thoughtful, enlightened questions!! Ha!
1.) WHAT WAS THE MOST AWFUL MOMENT YOU CAN REMEMBER IN YOUR LIFE?
My second grade teacher would hold the whole class in for recess until I would finish my math work. Oh my go**** was horrible! Maybe helping me learn would have been a better use of her time.
2.) *****ALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN HOW YOU THINK ABOUT THINGS?
I had a boss who made everyone feel important. You couldn't help but like yourself when you were around her.
3.) IF YOU WEREN'T DOING WHAT YOU ARE TODAY, AND HAD NO LIMITATIONS WHATSOEVER, WHAT WOULD YOU REALLY BE DOING?
The only limitations I have in my life are carbs and calories. Everything else is fair game. I started my own business when I was 27. It never occured to me that I could fail. And now, I am in the process of living my dream!! I am opening a boutique down the road. I am going to "Market" in Vegas next week to obtain suppliers. Yeah!!!!
4.) WOULD YOU HAVE MARRIED THE SAME PERSON AGAIN KNOWING WHAT YOU DO NOW?
Yep!!! I love that man!
5.) WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING ABOUT BEING A WOMAN? (OR MAN?)
Giving birth. This is why I only have one child!
6.) WHAT MAKES YOU YOU IN 4 WORDS?
silly, sassy, sarcastic, sweet and spiritual (Oops, I needed 5)
7.) IN 5 YEARS, WILL YOU BE HEALTHIER, STRONGER, HAPPIER OR ARE YOU AFRAID YOU'LL GO BACK TO OLD WAYS?
Healthier-yes!! Happier-I'm already the happiest person I know.

I had a boss just like you had answered in number 2 - and I am thankful everyday for the type of person he was and what he taught me in terms of how important it is to bring people around you *up*.!

1.) WHAT WAS THE MOST AWFUL MOMENT YOU CAN REMEMBER IN YOUR LIFE?
This is a tie, really because I have two: The day our priest came to the school and told my brother and I that our father finally died from cancer (I was 10, brother was 9), also The day my mom showed up at college unannounced and told me my grandma had passed away -
2.) *****ALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN HOW YOU THINK ABOUT THINGS?
By far my grandmother - she came alone from Ireland in the early 1900s, only had an 8th grade education, but was the smartest, strongest, funniest person I know. I come from a lineage of strong women and I hope to pass that along to my daughter.
3.) IF YOU WEREN'T DOING WHAT YOU ARE TODAY, AND HAD NO LIMITATIONS WHATSOEVER, WHAT WOULD YOU REALLY BE DOING?
Oh, I would be singing professionally and teaching music to kids.
4.) WOULD YOU HAVE MARRIED THE SAME PERSON AGAIN KNOWING WHAT YOU DO NOW?
No.
5.) WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING ABOUT BEING A WOMAN? (OR MAN?)
Knowing that no matter how smart I am, or good at my job, men look at us like an object first. Drives me crazy. I'm experiencing this a lot now that I'm thinner, I haven't changed, but the way I'm treated is very different. Ugh.
6.) WHAT MAKES YOU YOU IN 4 WORDS?
Passionate, Driven, Intelligent, Happy
7.) IN 5 YEARS, WILL YOU BE HEALTHIER, STRONGER, HAPPIER OR ARE YOU AFRAID YOU'LL GO BACK TO OLD WAYS?
Every day it gets better so imagine how good it will be in 5 years!
Good questions!
Sharon
Oh my gosh, I come from a family of strong, talented women as well. My grandma was a little fireball - she cooked for everybody in the community, taught me all the fairy tales and had a totally in-your-face -here's- my-opinion-whether-you like-it-or-not attitude all her life. She gained the respect of everyone who knew her. The other grandmother was married to a civil engineer who travelled the mountains of India and camping out in the forest while the crews built railroads in the 40s. She sewed and embroidered and made homemade wine and was a creative genius. I miss them so much - and I wish that I had spent more time with them. They really are the force behind me and my 2 sisters and how we approach life. Aren't we lucky to have been blessed with such great role models?
Love, Nan
