I'm H U N G R Y !!!
Hi All, The posts have been so cute and fun I hate to be a sour note however I am hungry most of the time. I suddently can eat meat where before a bite or two and I felt to full, so I know I ate to many cabs. Now I can eat meat too and I still am hungry. I actually ate a whole hamburger and was not even unconfortable. That worries me. The other morning by 11 am I had ate a bowl of cereal, a bag of microwave popcorn and something else. Each time I had something I'd think that now I'll be OK but the cravings came back. Any one else having this problem. I am a slow loser anyway with 60 lbs off with a surgery date of 7/27. This really scares me that I may not lose anymore weight. Since I had surgery I have ran into two people who had the surgery and gained it all back! OOOH NOOOO! Love And Good Wishes To All. I read the posts everyday. Cil
Priscilla,
I've been hungry since Christmas!! Although I have lost 75 pounds since surgery July 29th , I find I can eat about anything except sugar. I have been reading emails but not responding because everyone seems to be doing better than I and their reports of what they are eating make me feel guilty!! I can eat steak, pasta, bread whatever! I am trying to eat and get my protein in but I too worry that I can eat too much. I am trying to exercise more but you know how that goes. Just wanted to know you aren't the only one. I do take some comfort that I could eat much more before so in perspective, my calories are down. My Doctor says that I am losing 2-3 pounds a week (usually) and that is a good way to go. Hopefully he knows what he is talking about! Hang in there, we are still skinnier than we were before! Jo
I am glad you said something because I was thinking I was alone on this. I am hungry all the time now. I HAVE to make sure that I have a water bottle with me at all times because otherwise I want to eat. I do not like this. I can see how people slip back into old habits. I was always one to think that it could never happen, now I see how it does happen.
Keep tha****er close to you, it does help!

Hi Priscilla,
I am happy you posted.. That is what this board is for. I had surgery one day before you and have lost 74 pounds so we are not that far off from each other. I know some ppl here think that carbs are the devil. I myself will eat them in moderation becuase i find for me that when i EAT carbs i CRAVE more carbs.. So I have decided to just change one thing and that is what I eat for breakfast. I started drinking my protein shake for breakfast and what do you know.. I felt full until lunch and i no longer crave crabs. Just take one day at a time and don't be so hard on yourself. We are all in this together and the last thing any of us want to do is put back on ANY weight. So just hang in there and by the way HAPPY 6 MONTH ANNIVERSARY TODAY!!

from what i can tell we are supposed to have our hunger returning now and the key point is that we start to use our tool (the pouch) appropriately. Until now we've been healing and it's been easy but this is the time when the pouch comes into play. we fill it with the right foods and we aren't hungry anymore. so the question is... do you want to get rid of your hunger and continue to lose weight, or do you want to eat stuff that you know you shouldn't? (rhetorical question, not pointed towards you specificially.)
this should help:

Some days I'm H U N G R Y too ... all the time!! Monday and Tuesday I ate so much, all day long ... Tuesday, I swear I problably ate more than 2,000 calories whi*****lude a hamburger (not all in one sitting but a couple hours in between), a can of beef-a-roni (again not in one sitting, but how bad can you eat!!?? ) And then I also had 3-4 fun size Snickers and I can't even remember what else!! I was just craving anything and everything ...
But then again, during the weekend, I barely ate 500 calories a day cuz I wasnt feeling good and just wasnt hungry. And Wednesday, yesterday and today I've only had between 650-800 calories.
I think we go through these phases ... and as long as we try to watch what we eat most of the time, we will be okay! Hang in there and just keep on trying!!!
Hey Marlize - you are so right - but you know what - if you do the 'project review' after the meal - you'll definitely see that you are eating nothing close to what you did before.
I had a 12" pizza vegetarian for lunch today during a team meeting - pre-surgery, I would have eaten the entire thing. This time round I could only eat most of the toppings and a teeny bit of the crust.
I think using FitDay really really helps as well.

I stay hungry alot now too. One thing I prayed that this surgery would do is take away my hunger, and for the first few months it did. My constant hunger is what caused me to get so large in the first place. I guess I'm glad I have myself in a routine that I follow everyday without fail or there is no telling where I'd be now. Kinda makes me think of any addict, once one-always one. I have to keep myself mindful of the fact that I'm a food addict and I'm not going to let my addiction take my life over again.
Best of luck to you all!
Im so glad that you all posted, I have been feeling down about the fact I have a july 25 date and only down 70 pounds, and I posted a few weeks ago that I thought my pouch held to much, when I find a food I can eat I can eat alot, I still cant do meat at all but I can eat a huge salad, the large size can of clam chowder soup, and I drink tons of tea, coffe, juice I thought I was the only one, but we will all be fine I have to admit Iam super jelous of the people who have hit the 100 mark and more..Im happy for them but I feel like am I really gonna fail at Gastric Bypass to? NO! it may take longer and we may have to fight of food but we are going to succeed at this!! LisaJ
