1/2 ton man/QUESTION

Did anyone see the "Half Ton Man" last night on TLC? It was about this man who weighed over 1000 lbs and his journey to lose weight. It made me feel terrible. They had to remove a wall of his home to get him out. He was covered in sores, feces and even blood. His skin was stretched to capacity and he developed sores that would secreet fluids from his body. The kicker is that he totally denied that his eating habits had anything to do with his weight. He blamed it ALL on the genetic hand that was delt him. I felt guilty judging him for not taking ANY responsibility, but come on!!! He had gastric bypass after he lost several hundred pounds and was under 500 lbs at the end of the show. His surgeon said that his stomach had a 3-liter capacity at the time of his surgery. Can you imagine that? That is like 3 1-liter bottles of soda! QUESTION: They mentioned on this program that 50 percent of wls patients gain their weight back. This sounded very high to me. Is this correct? I was freaking out! C Leigh

I watched this show and honestly I started off feeling really sorry for him, but he was a jerk !!! your right he would not take on any responsibility and his wife just gave in to him, did any one see the show on the same channel with the women 600+ pounds and had WLS ? it was really good and she had all sorts of complications but had the best out look on life, I wish I had her positive attitude LOL Lisa M J

Hi, I have watched both of these stories several times....I think Jackie has to be one of the sweetest people I've ever seen, and I would love to know how she's doing now. I believe someone said awhile back that the man was a memeber on this site. Billlie
