Janice, I have not had my surgeon yell at me or anything like that...it seems a bit unethical if you ask me. I started at 444 back on February 28th of last year...then got down to about 432 in the beginning of July, then on my Surgery date of July 27th, I was at 426. My surgeon has never given me a set amount to have lost at any particular time...he has said that the big numbers of loss are usually in the first 6 months, but that everyone is different. Dr. Poplawski is a very straight forward man..gave it to me like it is, the good, the bad, the ugly before surgery. The fact that I could die during surgery, the complications, etc. The fact that because I was such a high weight put me at greater risk. But all-in-all, he has never said that I was doing anything wrong. Sure I have needed to up my protein, and some other levels, which have gone up, and my Cholesterol is at an all-time low of 160...this is GREAT for me. Everyone is different and I think we are all doing fine...think about this....whenever else in our lives have we had the opportuinity to REALIZE that we physically could not eat anymore? I am losing slower than I thought I would too...starting at such a high weight I thought for sure I would have lost like 150 by now...HA! This is definately not a quick fix..like some of the media portrays it as...it is just a tool to help us live our lives to the fullest!! I feel like I am doing that...I am currently at 355 as of this morning..I seem to stay within a 7-10 pound range forever than all of the sudden ...BAHM...6 pounds gone...but it alwasy fluctuates in that 7-10 pound range. I joined Fit Zone for women this week..so I am hoping for better results now. I am also realizing that I have started "grazing" is another reason why I have probably not lost a significant amount of weight in a good month and a half! I hate the fact that I don't have a set time to sit down and eat...that is what I am going to work on today....planning, mapping out, my excercise days, what to eat and everything AHEAD of time so I will stop grazing like a d**m cow. Best of luck to you Mandie Pre-op 444/Day of 426/Today 355 Total loss of 89 Since surgery 71

Janice, First of all I personally think that 76 1/2 lb. is a wonderful accomplishment. No matter what your doc says. Shoot I'd like to see him lose that amount of weight without excersizing. I also have bad knees and a really bad back. It' took me some time before I was able to do alot of things to but I now do them. There are also alot of things I still can't do and probably won't ever be able to but i keep on trying so don'y give up and keep trying to do what your body will let you ok??? I just recently started losing weight and alot of inches all at once because I walk alot and really fast now. So keep trying OK? Hugs, Cheri
