I was at Curves yesterday and they had a very interesting statistic posted on the wall. After tracking over 3,000 people who were losing weight, those who weighed in every day lost twice as much as those who weighed in once a week. Of course this probably didn't include wls patients. I'm sorry that I can't give you a link to look this up and I don't know who conducted the study so take it for what it's worth. ughhhh....feeling fat today, C Leigh P.S.- Why do I look 30 lbs heavier with my clothes off?!?! I'm hating my gross saggy body today!!

Mmmmm, very interesting ... you would think that people who weigh in everyday and then not loose would get more discouraged and loose slower or stop loosing!? BTW, I had a "fat" day yesterday too, probably changed like 4 times yesterday morning before I decided what I wanted to wear, and dont even get me started and when I see myself naked ...

That is very interesting. I wonder how long these patients were in the study, etc... I always thought that weighing once a day on a "normal" diet would be discouraging also, but I guess it could keep you motivated to make that scale move more. Won't even go there with the saggy skin. HUGS Kimberly

I would guess weighing in every day what help you catch it quicker when you start to "slip". I googled and came up with this extract from a news article on it: "Published in the December issue of the Annals of Behavioral Medicine, it reports that dieters who weighed themselves regularly shed more pounds over a 24-month period than people who didn't regularly weigh themselves. Those who weighed themselves daily lost the most. "To the authors, the implications are clear: Dieters should be encouraged to weigh themselves -- and often." C Leigh- I believe this! I weigh every day (no matter what anyone here says ) And I think it helps me. I think it depends on what you are expecting when you get on the scale. As long as the numbers don't go up. It's a great day. Now when they do go up-- 99.9% of the time...I didn't drink my water good the day prior. And so I just tell myself-- Uh oh...you better drink your water today! Usually it is back down the next day. I seriously plan to weigh once a day (in the morning) from here until eternity. I am hoping it will help stop me from gaining any of this weight back! I just like saying 74 lbs gone forever! Linda PS I am most grossed out by my arms. I hate wearing short sleeves..and it freaks me out because I don't have a clue what I am going to do in the summer. But I would rather have this saggy skin than one ounce of that weight back!
