I am addicted to THRIFT STORE SHOPPING>.... I HAD NO CLOTHES Hit the local goodwill- no luck HIT THE JACKPOT at AMVETS... Oh my GOD my friends and family cannot beleive ME = who had three closets- of LARGE SIZE CLOTHES good quality from better womens departments and costly stores as well as Chadwicks, SPeigel Lord & Taylor etc... shops at thrift shops... I am loving and having a ball rummaging for Good quality clothes for fractions of the price!!! Even hit the consignment stores... Something I never would have done in the past.. Must have been hiding in my obesity by charging hundreds of dollars to look better. NOW I AM SAVING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS reducing my shopping budget as I am reducing..... TOday I purchased: Sag HArbor 100% wool lined slacks Lord& Taylor skirt Karen McNAughten skirt Abercrombi & Fitch Sweater for a total of $13.00 And I am so humble - I am greatful to those who gave the clothes as a donation. I will donate them back when I shrink some more for someone else to enjoy! THIS SURGERY changed me and the way I shop... Unbelievable benefits!

I have been buying jeans off of ebay. I have gotten some GOOD deals! I've got size 10, 12 and 14 jeans waiting to fit into. (I hope I hope) I also have gone to Ross and gone through their clearance rack. Since my weight is still going down and will (I hope) continue to do so for a while, I don't want to spend too much. But then I've always been a thrift store shopper for myself. I am a stay at home mom and being so heavy, I just didn't care about wearing nice clothes. Now I do, but I'm still changing. I don't think I'll ever be the type to spend $200 on a blouse though, so thrift stores are my friend as well. I think I may have a little outing today!

I have not been a thrift store shopper--- New York City thrift stores are kind of nasty. I am however a frequent, Loehmans; Filene's Basement, Marshall's person now. Now that I can find nice things that fit! Still spending too much on clothes. Up until November, I was able to go through my clothes in the closet. Now, I actually need to buy some. I buy everything about 5pounds too small and usually get some wear out of the them. I have also been donating old clothes and buying and selling stuff on ebay. Got a cashmere sweater for $30 on line. Honestly, the most expensive things to replace are bras and panties.

I have been shopping in Ross and finding bargains galore! Since I am still losing I aslo buy some smaller sizes. I got the best buy I can not believe. A pair of BCBG jean original price $98.00 Ross price $4.99 and it was a size 10 and it fit . I will not spend more than $10 on anything and my closet is filing up so fast it is amazing. Best thing is that I enjoy the choices and there is so MUCH to chose from. WLS is awesome. Good Luck to y'all on the bargain shopping Hugs Pam

I love going to the thriftstores too, but havent really been able to find too nice a stuff except for a really nice suede jacket that I found for $10. Its a medium so I'm gonna have to wait till next winter to fit into it, but it looks brand new and is really really nice. Right now, Ross is my friend!! I bought a bunch of clothes there and it was under $50. Even though I'm still young and working full time without kids, I can't imagine spending over $100 for a pair of jeans or shirts. A girl I work with has no problem spending $200 for a pair of jeans or $300 for a handbag ... it kills me!!

I have taken a lot of my clothes to a consignments shop to get rid of the "large" clothes. I do some part time work at Lane Bryant and the shop loves when I bring in my bags! So now I have been shopping there for 14s since it is a plus size consignment shop and start at a 14. I also found a couple of racks at Elder Beermans that were marked $1.95! I found a couple of skirts,(size 12 that fit) even a "Tommy" skirt for $1.95!! I love finding bargins now that I can buy things in just about any store. Kohls had some pretty good clearance racks too. I found a few bargins in there. The next places I plan to hit are the thrift stores! Just when I thought my closests were thining out I am finding all kinds of bargins! It is a good feeling!! Kelly

I have been addicted to shopping also!! In the past I would buy things on sale that were too small because "I was going to lose weight"--well, I finally HAVE lost weight-60lbs, and can wear a lot of the things in my closet with the tags still on them that have been there 3-4 years and sometimes more!! Luckily, they are still in style!! The bummer is that I found several things that I went right past without even having the chance to wear them! I love this time of year with all the sales, but don't know what size I will be next year at this time-SMALL I hope!! I am going to try my first consignment shopping trip this week-my daughter and I are going on our first cruise in 2 weeks, and I have nothing dressy to wear (what a shame, huh?) Debbie

LOL ... I can relate to that, most of my 14-16's have tags on them!! "I'm gonna loose weight so I'll might as well buy it while its on sale..." That was like 2-3 years ago ...

I have found many cute things at Ross lately. I'm finally in a size that they make fashionable clothes for. No more fat lady tents! HA! I have a friend who just had a baby a few months ago and is having a heck of a time losing her pregnancy weight. I called her up and asked her if she wanted to raid my closet. She did and took 25 articles of clothing that were too large on me. She was so excited that she cried. It was such a great feeling to have helped her out. A week later she sent me a very nice gift certificate to Lane Bryant. Your new pic is fabulous girl. I love your hair. Too cute! Take care, C Leigh

I'm going to the Thrift Store Friday morning. Can't wait! I LOVE it! I used to go for the kids because it was very hard to find anything for me, but now that I'm a normal size, I can buy just about anything. It's GREAT! I LOVE shopping. Trying to make more money so I can REALLY go shopping! I would love to be able to go on a shopping spree at the mall. I always hated shopping and wore hand me downs mostly. I always said skinny people were so lucky because they can put on anything a look good. It's TRUE too! Although I don't consider myself skinny, I do find that most things I put on look just fine. It's amazing! I used to never go anywhere, now I want to go out just so I have a reason to get dressed and wear the clothes! LOL Silly huh? HUGS Kimberly
