IM GAINING WEIGHT!!
I weigh myself weekly, and I gained 7 pounds this week. Back to 176, when I was so ecstatic to be 169 and just "overweight". I dont know why. I've been working out every day, and eating 5-6 times a day, and getting enough water and calories. I had no problems with holiday eating or anything like that. This is so depressing.
Maybe it has to do with stress. My best friend died on Christmas Eve...but seriously, 7 pounds in a week? Ugh. I don't know what to do with myself.
I gained a few pounds when I changed the battery in my scale. Could that be it? I also know that you may be really building up some muscle. A pound or two plus fluid, plus stress (I'm so sorry about your friend) could really add up. I bet it will go away as fast as it came. Hang in there hon!

Ashley,
First of all I'm so sorry to hear about your friend..
Have you been working out at all? Because sometimes the fat turns to muscle and you can gain weight ans still lose inches. Are you still wearing the same pants?
It's a whole New Year so don't get depressed it'll come back off, you'll see.
Hugs, Cheri
Ashley,
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. so sorry.
I'm in the same boat- i was down to 170 and gained 6 pounds- and was up to 176 again overnight.. i've lost 2 pounds of it- so i'm at 174.. isn't fun I know.. iam going back to basics... and trying to walk more.. (didn't happen today though- not yet!! i still have about 2 hours to get some walking in.. but i'm so tired) i was eating too many carbs.. so i've cut them out again...
just keep with it... it will happen.. so i've been told for the last 2-3 weeks.. we'll start losing again

First I am sorry to hear about your friend. Stress does horrible things to our bodies!!
Second - Is it close to your Aunt's visit? I gained about 6 pounds before she came this month and as she left she took all of that 6 pounds with her.
Third - if it is not because of your Aunt it is probably a combo of the exercise and the stress. I do not think that cardio will make you gain anything but if you are doing strength training you could be holding onto some extra weight because of that. I know that when I do strength training (twice a week) I have a harder time loosing for a day or two and then it drops.
((((((hugs))))))))))

Hi Ashley. I don't know why you would gain seven pounds. I have put a couple on during the holidays but it is my own fault for getting in to stuff I shouldn't....even tho, I still haven't had much lately. It could be the stress from your friend dying; I am very sorry to hear that.
I imagine it will probably come back off as quick as it went on and just be one of those fluke things.
Pam
so sorry to hear about your friend.
As for the weight gain, don't worry. If you're doing everything right i'm sure it is a very temporary situation. It's happened to me a few times and it usually comes off very quickly and is then followed by even more weight loss. In the beginning of november i gained 8lbs for no apparent reason, by the middle of december i had lost that and another 20lbs. I'm sure you'll have a similar experience.
