ANYONE with less than fifty lost????
I have lost more than 50 but I was in your boat for a while...a month almost. I have lost 62 since surgery...started at 278...and I feel like I cant go to my 6 moth visit at the end of January weighing over 200.....I feel like I failed...while I have lost more than the 50% of excess weight my doc considers it a successful surgery, but I don't. I need to step up my exercise which is something i neglected. i need to drink more water too...I wish you the Best hun and Dont worry it will start to come off. My weight bounced around from 220 to 223 for 3 1/2 weeks. On Dec 21st i was 220....Today i am 215!! 5 lbs like that, im sure you wil be ok hun.

I know what you mean feeling like you failed but we haven't. It is just taking longer. I also need to step up my exercise and plan to soon. At my three month checkup the nutritionist said that the people that are the "successful" ones are the ones that follow the plan and do the exercise. I guess it makes sense, huh? I need to get into gear a little more.
Pam
Pam, I'm just wondering if you have checked the lightweights board? I was considered a lightweight too, but started at 268 (I'm 5'7"). Since you were at such a low starting weight, it might be helpful to "compare notes" on that board so you can start feeling a little more reassured. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/wls_lightweights/
Pam-
I started at 230 also, and have lost about 58..for a while I was feeling like a failure, but I have lost over half of what I need to to be at a normal bmi, so I feel good about that...I also feel sooo much better than I did pre surgery, that it has been worth it! I have always been a slow loser, so I feel like it will come off, maybe just slower than some people.
Hang in there-I am glad you wrote this, because I was feeling kinda alone!
Debbie
Thanks Debbie. Im so glad some of you are posting because I felt so alone and it helps.......
I just wish I could be in the 50's or 60's. I have been in the 40's so long and hit 50 for about one day or two and then back to the 40's again. The Christmas baking kind of did me in because I would graze on the goodies. I finally gave most stuff away but there are still more things that are tempting in the kitchen than normal. Still, I am not eating much so I don't know.....
Thanks again!!
Pam
Hi Pam,
How much protein are you getting in?? I had been stalled for the longest time.....around 8 weeks with really no weight loss. I just started adding a protein shake or two a day and all of a sudden the weight is starting to fall off again. I don't remember the brand name but I got it at GNC and it's chocolate flavored and really does not taste bad at all. I mix one scoop with 6-8 oz. of water shake it up and add a ton of ice. It has 18 grams of protein per serving. This seems to be working for me now so my guess is that my body was starving so therefore nothing was coming off.
Worth a try maybe....
