I had surgery 08/24/2005, but I thought I would read the July board to see if anyone has experienced anything like I have been going through this past month. I had lost 60 pounds a couple of weeks before my three month anniversary and have not lost a pound since. It has been almost five weeks since a pound has come off of my body. What the heck? I have not lost any inches either. Did anyone go through this?

August girl, I think just about all of us have gone through a major stall in the fourth to fifth month. Five weeks is a lot though. I hit a three week plateau, but I had not lost the amount that you had prior to stalling. 60 lbs. is great! Congrats! Try uping your calories for a few days. That's what I did and it broke my stall. Others have increased their protein or water intake and have had success with that. Hang in there, you're not done losing even though it might feel like it at this point. These stalls have got to be the most frusterating part of this whole process. Have you started to lose your hair yet? Chin up girl!! C Leigh

Things definetly slow down after 3 months. Don't stress about that. When I dropped to 1 # a week after losing an average of 5# is was hard to take. My advice would be to revisit what you are suppose to be eating and follow that strictly for a week and at the same time up you activity level a notch. But whatever you do, make sure you are eating as much as you are allowed. It seems like when I go for a few days without eating as much(stressed, to busy), I find that is when my body will slow down the loss. Keep up the good work. It will keep coming off. Your body just put on the brakes for a while.

Thanks for the great advise. Yes, my hair has just starting to fall out. When does this stop?

Mine is still falling out, but I have heard that it should slow/stop around the 7-8 month mark. That is if there is anything left at that point!! Ha! C leigh
