Goal? What goal?

I have never been given a "goal" or target weight loss number from my Dr. Is this strange? Is anyone else in the boat with me? When did you all set your goals? Was it before surgery or after the Doc determines your likely progress? C Leigh

My doc never set a goal for me either. He never even mentioned it at all. Before or after surgery. I thought it was strange too. Anyway, I am still happy with my loss regardless of any goals that I may have had in my mind before surgery. Blessings, Crystal

my doctor set my goal on the first visit. He told me he wanted me down to 150 in a year. he wanted me to loose 3 lbs. a month. lol not alot. But I am already there at 150. In 5 months. I don't eat right. I wanted to loose the weight fast. I eat one time a day. No snacks. I know I don't get in all my protein but I feel good and my hair is not coming out. I lost 100 lbs. about 10 years ago by eating one time a day and did very well. But after time I put it back on. Amy

I asked my doctor at my 2 month check up what my goal was, and he said that was up to me. So I guess some doctors set them for you, some you set for yourself. I picked 147 for myself because it sounded good. And it's been a good 20-some years since I've been below 150.

He did not give me a goal either. Hmmm...never thought to ask him either. My goal for myself is 140, would not mind being 137, which is my "recommended weight" for my height and age. lol I weigh 182 this morning. Whoohoo! Lost 3 more pounds!

I thought I was the only one. I don't have a goal either. I am planning on discussing it at my next visit though. Shellie

My doctor set goal for me on my first visit which he would like me to lose within 6-9 months. He feels you lose the fastest in the beginning. He set 150 for me. I am 25 lbs away from that do not think I will lose 25 lbs by Jan which will be 6 months (omg can you believe it) but I am OK with getting there in 9 months which will be in March. With all my stalls I never know but as long as I keep losing that is just fine.

My surgeon never set a goal either. He said shoot for 80 to 100 lbs and then see how you feel. I'm targeting 94 pounds (160). I haven't been that weight since in almost 20 years. and I felt great then.

My doctor never gave me a goal weight either, never mentioned it and I'm not even going to ask cuz there are so many stats out there that shows you what weight is normal for your age so I'll just go according to that, or go according to how I look and feel ... Marlize

Never mentioned anything to me. For my height, it is recommended 116, but I would be happy with 125-130. I cant imagine what I will have to do to actually stabilize my weight.. or perhaps it just does it itself. Who knows. Im at 156 now, so Im about 30 lbs away. I hope to reach goal by summer time !!!
