UGH!!!!!!!!!!
I can understand all of your views but I do not take offense at remarks like that. I think they are just trying to make a point that these contestants did not have any surgery to help them out, and to me, yes, surgery, is a way to help me out. I have only lost 46 pounds so far but I have never been able to lose this much and keep it off the "old fashioned" way, and, I have to take my hat off to them. Also, I would prefer to do it without surgery, but, that did not work for me. So, personally, so far, this is an "easier" way for me. What the future holds, I do not know, and may have to eat my words (no pun intended)!
Please do not take any offense at my comments as it is just my feeling and I do understand all of yours completely.

SPEED OF THE LOSS ... Gimme a break! Yes, those folks deserve the accolades they got for losing their weight but c'mon ... they lost A GREAT DEAL of weight relatively quickly as well! Just because their 'tool' of choice was being sequestered away from family and friends and outside influences as far as food went and subjected to extreme methods of exercise doesn't mean that they are any different from any of us and NONE of us should be accused of resorting to a 'quick fix'. Those of us who had WLS simply chose a DIFFERENT way to assist us in controlling food portion size and selection AND we also utilize exercise as a part of our daily regiment. I am hopeful that all of the 'contestants' who participated successfully (there were one or two who definitely were not as successful as the rest ... just as there are some who are not as successful as others with WLS) now have the tool that they need to continue with their healthy lifestyles and maintain their tremendous weight losses (God knows ... it ain't easy ANY WAY that you do it!). Just MHO!
