Another kind of moving...

I'm having a terrible time with exercise, especially as it gets darker earlier. I walk, but I give up after about 20 minutes, bored out of my mind. I'm too klutzy for most exercise videos, and am really looking for some way to get my body in better shape. Any suggestions? Boredom is also a problem at the gym with the treadmill. I do like free weights and the weight machines, but need some effective cardio. I'm too embarassed and out of shape to join an aerobics class. Help! Sally P.S. There's a Curves gym near my house, but they're only open during the hours I work and Saturdays. Is it worth joining for one day a week?

I use some really motivating high beat music to get me in the mood to exercise... I actually use a Christian rock CD - WoW 04. I would go to your local music store and see if they have any "fitness music".... they have CDs made just for exercising. Also, is there anyway you could join a water aerobic class ? They are much easier than reg. aerobics.... its something to get you started AND Please dont let your body and how you feel about it stand in the way of getting back into shape & staying healthy . Thanks so much for your suggestion. I also own that CD, and in fact just bought WOW Hits 2005. It would be great to dance to it. What a great idea! I'll also look into your water aerobics suggestion. There's a YMCA on the other end of town with that kind of program. Maybe they have evening classes. I appreciate your encouragement! -- Sally

Sally, No curves is not worth going to only one day a week. I joined last March. There is a costly sign up fee and then it is $30.00/month. It wont work for you if you can only make it there weekly. I have the same problem with their hours. It is totally inconvenient for me. C Leigh
