Okay, so I'm really starting to get frustrated with my weight loss. First I was on a stall for more than two weeks, then I lost 4lbs, but then I pick it up again ... same thing for the past week or more!!!?? I have started to introduce new foods into my diet, but I'm so constipated I had to go to the doctor to get something. Then one of my friends here on OH mentioned that it might be the depo shot I started to get in September ... my hormones are out of wack and I need to adjust. What do you guys think ... I cant pinpoint what is going on! HELP!!!

I was on depo for 2 years and all I did was gain weight. I think everyone is different but that is what happened to me. I'm on the patch none and have had no weight lose stop. Good luck.

I think I still weight too much for the patch ... I'll ask my doc next time I see her if I dont start loosing weight within the next couple of weeks. I'm going to seriously start going to the gym, so hopefully that will make the scale move!!

Hey there Just my 2 cents My sister-in law gained 40lbs in 6 mo, and she has still yet to drop it, even after quiting it, I did the IUD (the new one) and it works great w/ little to no hormone circulation, its a lot of weight but they say you either gain alot or it does nothing to you. Cheryl

You are probably just in a stall. It happens to all of us. I have been on the Depo shot for over ten years, with no real added weight gain. Some people have issues with it, but sometimes it is just an excuse. It may account for 10 pounds difference but usually no more than that. Good Luck Heather

My whole body was in revolt from the weight loss--- I got stuck in a "time of month" for the WHOLE MONTH. My OBGYN said that depo may not be an option because it puts you at risk for bone density loss which is already a risk with a RNY-- He also said the patch is OK if your under 180pounds..., but since I am not there yet, he ended up switching me to a norvo ring. I was on depo for 2 years without a hitch-- I gained weight before I went on it, and after too. Can't tell you if it was the shot or me. Hang in there.
