Skin Rashes ALREADY??!!
Hi All,
I am 3 months out and 54 lbs down and I am having a major problem. I have a rash on the underside and underneath both breast and underside and underneath my belly and irritation in the navel. I went to the doc and she documented it all (should I take pics? for documentation?) and prescribed some ointment for candida (yeast) infection. I started this and this rash still itches like nobody's buisness. Now I never even thought of reconstructive surgery before but I wanted this documented as I see that maybe this may have to become a consideration. I also went to the Vitamin Shoppe and got some Calendula ointment (from calendula flowers for cuts scrapes and irritation).
Is anyone else going through this and if so what helped you. I am getting a feeling that this is something that I may have to look forward to dealing with since I am still so new out and it happened already. Any tips or suggestions would be helpful. Now I also wanted to add that before surgery I would put cornstarch between any "rolls" to keep dry and such. I am not so sure this is gonna work anymore?? I dunno...........

pre op i always got rashes.. of course- now i haven't had a ONE..
but i always after shower- took the blow dryer and make it really dry- then use powder to eliminate as much as possible friction. somtimes i even went as far as putting klenex under the boobs- with the bra.. and always wear cotton undergarments. keep the blow (hair) dryer close by.. and change undergarments when you feel damp..
(jock itch cream works well too- or powder)

Hi "Itchin for answers" (lol just loved it!) That is not a good feeling, the rashes I mean. I hated those things. I got them under my breasts in the summer when I was larger. If I used powder, I'd get too dry and would get extremely dry skin that peeled and itched. YUK I haven't had this problem since surgery yet, but feel for sure I will. I would definately take pictures and keep your own documents - including all medical receipts etc. Good luck with it! Hope it isn't a constant recurring issue for you!

DEFINITELY take pics and anytime it happens go to the doc and get it documented.
In the meanwhile to help prevent it, after you shower and dry off, apply antiperspirant under your breasts and panni, and anywhere else you are breaking out. It will prevent the moisture and heat that help the yeast breed. It totally works for me!

I agree with the documentation. One of the ladies in Dr. Bakers office has had the surgery and reconstruction and said it is absolutely necessary. pictures too. For several years I always have sprayed (wheather I need it or not) areas that get raw with anti fungal spray. I almost never get a rash when I do that regularly need it or not. And I have to shower everyday or even with the spray I may get a rash. Good Luck!! Cil
I hear you!!!
I just started with a rash under my breasts- thought it was the bra so I bought a smaller one.. still there.. I also have a rash on the hip bone.. I put some yeast med on just in case. It seems to have calmed down.
I was suprised because it is only one side the left right where the old tummy probably hung. Probably time for new undies.. maybe they would hold me in as the weight loss continues. However, I am not saggy looking and my skin feels okay...maybe just a fluke..good luck
documentation is important as well as treatment.. Especially for the tt.
