Whooo hooo, for the first time since surgery ... I had chicken teriyaki today, and I feel fine!! Before surgery, pizza and chicken teriyaki was my fave, some weeks I would eat it for lunch everyday!! :-0 I had 4 slices of chicken and 2 bites of rice ... and I had the sauce on the side so I can dip my fork in it because of all the sugars it has!! Mmmmm, best lunch I've had in weeks .... Just thought I'd share!! Marlize

I had chicken a broccoli about a month ago. I used to be able to eat all of my lunch special plus my husbands left over rice. I was only ablye to eat about 3 pieces of chicken and 5 pieces of broccoli...it was devine! Oh yeah, I only ate like 2 bites of rice.....I was scared to try to much of it. Mandie

Yeah, this was the first time I tried rice too so I chewed really well and tried not to eat too much. I havent eaten refined carbs except for one tortilla since surgery, and I've been on a stall for more than 3 weeks now and I've only been eating protein, veggies and soups. I'm going to start trying different things cuz I think my body is tired with what I'm eating ... it wants variety. So if I dont loose eating proteins and veggies, I'm gonna spice it up a little and see if that will work!!

Now, don't everyone starting telling me I'm bad....but I eat whatever I want. I'm pretty fortunate that I don't want sugars, breads, pasta, or rice much. It sits ok with me; but I guess my tastes have changed (and that's good because I don't dump on anything). If I do want it, I eat it. I'm down 76 pounds since surgery so I'm not changing anything right now. The longest stall I've had is about 3 days. I've been losing between 2 and 4 pounds per week. The least I've lost in a week was 1 pound. I've been eating pretty much anything I wanted since I was about 6 weeks out. I do try to focus on eating the protein first, but sometimes I say to hell with it! My doctor is a big supporter of getting back to eating real foods. They've found that those who stick with "soft" foods quit losing or start regaining. The only thing I really watch are things with thick skins and chewing gum! I say "Live a little, Marlize, and try some new foods".

I think that's what I'm gonna do cuz I'm still stuck, up and down and most of my food is still smushy and mushy, I'm having a hard time moving over to SOLID foods and still notice that when I have something solid, I'll add something smushy in there to make it softer, but I'm not loosing. You have been doing so good, I'm really proud of you ... that is an awesome loss, and what your doing might be the key to your success!! I'm seriously going to try and do variety cuz I'm stuck and I'm eating as healthy and good as can be ... Thanks for the support and idea, I'm totally gonna do that!!

Yummy Marlize! Chicken teriyaki is one of my personal favs. Just be careful if you dump on sugars. Some of it is loaded with sugar/honey/brown sugar. It all depends on how sensitive you are. Kathie 285/229/150ish?
