Sneaking in for a visit
I have just finished reading a few pages of this board and all you folks are a lot of fun. I came here because although I am a non-op I started my program on July 7. I wanted to see if all journeys were about the same, and how everyone was doing after three months. I like the support I find on these boards, reading mostly the main board and of course the non-op board.
I was happy (sorry ) to see the stalls at 3-4 months out. I will hit 4 months on November 7 and for the life of me I can't seem to make the scale go down below 275. I started at 342 so I am happy with the loss but want it to go down a LOT more. I started back at the gym two weeks ago and I know my body is figuring out all the changes.
What I found interesting is that even without surgery my experiences are much the same. The stall and the up and down of the scale. I guess bodies, regardless of the way the loss is attained, are much the same.
I hope I don't offend anyone by coming here, since I didn't have surgery, but a weight loss journey is the same, no matter how you cut it. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Thank you for saying we seem like fun. Someitmes it gets a little crazy in here...but it makes it that much more interesting.
What type of program did you start in July? I have not read your profile yet, but did you originally try to have surgery and were denied?
We are here for you if you have any questions...don't know how much help we will be, but we will try.
WOW you have lost like 70 pounds since July..that is awesome! I wish I could. Keep up the good work!
Mandie
Hi Mandie,
I started South Beach on July 7. I had originally wanted WLS but my PCP said that he wanted me to try something one last time. And so far it's working, and I'm working it hard as well.
I think that the nutrition advice as well as support on these boards is second to none. Thank you for the warm welcome!!!

Donna,
OF COURSE you are welcome here! I'm so glad the diet is working for you! You are doing VERY well! That takes alot of commitment (not that surgery doesn't) but I was never that successful long term with regular diets. I TRULY hope you continue with your success on SB. It's a great diet plan, and very similar to how we have to eat. So we really do have alot in common.
Welcome, and looking forward to getting to know you better!

Kimberly,
Thank you for the warm welcome as well. Any weight loss regimen takes a lot of committment. I had never tried the classic way before, at least not long term, so I had to do that before committment to something like WLS.
Yes, SB is a lot like the post-op eating habits, which is why I gain a lot of information from the OH site.
Thank you again
Donna
