Hi! New to the board.
Hi! My name is Cindy and I am new to the messageboard. I just got out of the hospital yesterday for the fifth time since my surgery (7/6/05). At least this time they didn't do another dialation. A week ago, I was put on a beta blocker because my blood pressure was up. Well, it worked but found out my heart rate was in the 30's. When I left the hospital last night, they cut my dose in half.
I am not able to tolerate much other than vegetable soup, peanut butter. and nuts. They did an upper GI and said the test is normal. They, however, said the barium did backsplash up the lower intestine but did not reach the pouch. Has anyone out there ever heard of this and is it something to be concerned about. I am getting bored and depressed about eating the same thing over and over.
Hoping my picture shows up soon so you all can see.
Hi Cindy! Welcome to the July surgery board! You will love it here.
My gosh, you certainly have been through a LOT haven't you? Oh, you poor thing! I have never heard of what you mentioned, but I would think that if it was something to be concerned about, they would have let you know.
I honestly think that some of our tummies are just more sensitive than others. At least I'm hoping that's the case. I'll bet you are just sick to death of eating the same foods over and over. Try to hang in there, and come around here for support.
(((hugs)))
Hi Cindy
WELCOME to THE JULY Board. Sorry to hear your having difficulties.
I am just the opposite I cannot eat Peanut butter and nuts go right through me.
Have you tried mushy stuff- smashed potatoes with whey protein. Sounds like your pouch is grouchy. You are getting a lot of roughage.
Maybe some chicken soup soft boiled eggs etc..
Keep your doctor updated and surgeon. Hope it gets better.
