What do you say?
Hey I have a question for you all
Now that we have all last a substantial amount of weight
What do you say when people notice how much weight you have lost?
Do you tell them you have surgery?
I am proud and very thankful for my WLS and I tell anyone who asks how I did it.
Let's take a survey
What do you say....
It depends.....
I have told some people who seem pretty interested. Other people, who I instinctively don't trust or don't really know (those that say "hi" in the work hallway sometimes), I just say I have been working really hard to lose the weight. -- Which, after everything we went through, is true!
All my friends know and knew before I went in.
Unfortunately, I haven't had many people even notice yet and it's getting very discouraging. I have lost 60 lbs and feel like it's all in my head (like my imagination). I am in a wheelchair and am sitting all the time which I think is why people don't tend to notice as much. For the very few people that have noticed I do tell them.

I am so glad for all the positive responses.
Janice I am sure people notice however what's most important is that you feel a difference. I lost a total of 78 pounds and it is just now people are starting to say something.
I am proud that WLS has saved me in many ways.
I too have been known to lift my shirt and show my scars. (and my still very big belly)
There is lots of negative publicity out there these days and if I could be one of the ones to set things straight I am so happy to do that.
Well my fellow July'ers We are a fantastic bunch !!!
Hugs
Pam
