Okay, so the doc says I'm doing good and I'm looking really good!! However, I'm 6lbs behind on what I'm supposed to have lost by now, and he says I've got 9 months to loose the extra 100lbs I need to loose (I'm at a 60lbs loss). He did remind me that the only way I'm going to achieve this is by exercising since I've been really lazy in this department. Soooo ... I'm joing 24Hour Fitness on Saturday. Havent joined the gym yet cuz of financial issues, but I'd be stupid not to after spending all this time and $$ to do this surgery. He says after 9 months I'll stop loosing and I'll have to diet and exercise like a normal person to loose weight. He said I should be able to eat anything now, stay away from refined carbs and keep within 800-950 calories a day. I have no hernia's (he checked) and he said after a year I should come back for a TT consultation so we can get rid of the tummy and scar. Personally I felt like I didnt need the TT since it doesnt look too saggy to me, but what do I know ... N e ways, all in all I'm really happy with my surgery and weightloss. I get frustrated with the stalls and slow loss, but I would do this a hundred times over.

I wonder why your doctor is saying you only have 12 months to loose weight? My doctor told me that you have 18 months to do so or that most people loose until they are 18 months out. Everyone loses at different rates and to put a time limit on you seems kinda mean and will do nothing but make you stress. You are doing GREAT by the way!

Yeah, I was surprised too that he put a time limit on my weight loss since I figure as long as you eat healthy and exercise you will keep loosing cuz I'm not a normal person ... my intestines have been shortened and bypassed so I wont absorb food the same way no matter what!!? Personally I think he was trying to scare me, so I'm just going to do what I need to do, and loose whatever I can no matter how long it takes. Thanks, I'm happy with my loss, slow or not ... I feel tons better and am just gonna keep at it!! I love you guys, the support here is so amazing ... thank you!!! Marlize

Who knows ... maybe he is working on an average of his patients!! I'm just going to do what I need to do and hopefully get to goal within the next year to year and a half!! Thanks to you guys I get such a great general perspective that I'm not going to worry about it ...

Ah....Phoooy on your doctor.....This is a TOOL to help you along your new lifestyle and it will be there with you all the time.... The most weight loss occurs within the first 2 years, that is why you should wait to get pregnant. Your body needs to go through a lot of adjusting... As far as exercising goes, we all should do at least 30 minutes a day of some type of activity to get our heart rate up and going. Why does he think you will stop at 9 months? You are a normal person! We all are...we all just also happen to be very lucky to have a tool that will work with us and not against us. You are doing a fine job....Keep it up! DO NOT LET DOC GET TO YOU. Mandie

I fully agree with you Mandie ... maybe he is just using an average for his patients or using some kind of stat, who knows ... I'm gonna do what I have to do and loose what I can ... this is an amazing tool, and if I do what I need to do, I will reach goal, whether it takes me a year or two!! Thanks ... without you guys I would probably go crazy, you gusy ROCK!!

Mandie you are doing great. I am at 63 lbs and the doc says I am ahead of the avg for his patients. Everyone is different. You are doing the right thing joining the gym. We all were instructed on excercise and the TOOL... I am going to start physical therapy for my knee on MOnday...Hoepfully - I can sneak in a few more excercises... My walking really helped. Those days dwindled after my fall and the coming on of winter in Buffalo... OH well - WE THINK YOUR DOING FINE and your right in line with the majority of us here for JULY...

LOL ... aawwhhh, you were thinking of Mandie when you said that, but you probably did mean me ... right??? Thanks though, I appreciate it ... I'm not going to let him scare me like that, I'm gonna do what I need to do, and hopefully I will reach my goal, whether it takes 1 or 1 1/2 years ... I hope your therapy goes well, hang in there and hope your knee feels better soon!!
