Michele G. What happened?
Here I am!! It's so nice to be missed! My dang internet was down for 3 days! Talk about withdrawl! UGH!!
I didn't post about my tests because there was nothing to post! I had the Upper GI with small bowel follow through, and the Hida scan on Monday. NORMAL, NORMAL, NORMAL! Everything is normal!! Yes, that is good, but then- what is causing all of my pain??? Maybe it's just the rearranging and reorganizing of my insides? That must be it since I'm otherwise healthy as a horse. I even had a complete eye exam today, and she told me that she could see the beginnings of disease with this test such as diabetes and high blood pressure-but I had none of them and my "arteries looked very healthy". Who knew they could learn so much about your health by looking at your eyes? My blood pressure was 104/63! It's NEVER been that low!!
So, I guess, let's call it a fluke and start over here. I finally made it to a mini goal- I've lost 50 pounds- YIPPEE! Now to get under my husband. Well, weigh less than him I mean! He is at 196 and I am at 218. I now have faith that it will happen!
I saw your post on the Cali board Andrea- and Pam I got your email- you guys are so sweet! It's really nice to know that you care!
Michele,
Glad to hear everything is normal! I was worried you were back in surgery getting your gal bladder out...just so you know, my test were pretty negative for problems and they took mine out based on symptoms, when it went to the lab they said it had lots of scaring, meaning it did need to come out, but my xrays were essentialy negative!! Could still be your galbladder.
I am still having trouble on and off, but I am having a few more good days or hours depending on the day then I was last week, perhaps it's starting to resolve for me. I have been having this weird presure feeling on my chest this week, kind of short of breath, I figure it's my stressing out over my stomach and if it's not gone by monday, I will see my pcp and just make sure there is nothing real going on.
Take care!!!!
Oh! Thanks Teresa- that's good to know! Maybe it is my gallbladder after all!
I'm glad you're having a few more good days.... hey, do you think it has ANYTHING to do with acid/acid reflux? That's what they were telling me in the ER- but I didn't see how excess acid could hurt so bad- but I notice when I get an "attack" I ALWAYS have that acidy feeling. Hmmmmm.
Michelle,
not sure about the acid reflux, do you take any meds for acid? I have been taking protonix, my doc says this is the best....I forgot my pill one day and by the evening my chest was on fire...didn't think missing one pill could cause so much problems. who knows...hopefully we will figure it all out soon!
Be well!
Teresa
Good to hear from you! Everyone has been so worried. I'm glad the tests are all over, but sad that they didn't show anything. (Well, good, but would have been nice if they could have fixed something, huh?)
If you have acid problems, one of the things that helped me, was if I drank apple juice (or ate an apple, but the juice worked better.) (Just make sure the juice is only apple juice & not fortified with anything else.) I know that's not as easy to do now that we've had surgery (dumping and all that), but if I'm feeling a bit acidy, I'll make some half & half apple juice/water and that helps. Apples are a base, so it cuts the acid.
Just a thought. Good luck with all this.
Take care,
Lisa
