2 Large Pizza Slices
We had birthday celebrations today at the office and lunch was pizza.
I had two large slices of pizza, one hawaiin (ham, pineapple) and one vegetarian (garlic, tomatoes and spinach). I only ate the toppings, so dont have to feel too guilty, but oh boy ... that was just absolutely heavenly.
Pizza was my fave food pre-op and I havent had it since surgery so this was a real treat ... and best of all is I feel fine, not feeling sick at all!!
Just thought I'd share my good lunch story ...
Marlize
LOL ... your making me look bad by eating 1 slice for 3 meals and I ate 2 for 1 meal!!
The toppings wasnt much though (3oz - 4oz?) and if I had eaten the dough, I probably would have 3 meals too!! (Or so I tell myself ... )
I think I'm going to make this a monthly thing to have pizza, it will be my treat for following the guidelines for the month.
I love cheese too, I didnt like it much pre-op, but now I always add it to my chilli and I love it melted on some deli meat ... mmmmmm!! I'll get the pound of cheese and then we will share ... that way we wont feel too guilty!!
I guess dough expands in your stomach so you get fuller faster ... either way, before I would have had no problem eating a whole large by myself, so eating toppings off from 2 large slices and being stuffed ... that is just awesome!!
Boy I am glad I am not alone on this one!
PIZZA was my absolute favorite food before surgery, then chinese (MMM--CHICKEN AND BROCCOLI)
I do the same as most of you...eat the toppings, I figure PROTEIN from the cheese, I am afraid to try the pepperoni yet though. When I do order a Pizza hut pizza I get us thin crust w/cheese, pepperoni and mushroom...I have tried the crust a couple of times and when I do I can only eat one slice..and it takes me about 20 minutes to eat that one slice!..MUCH MUCH MUCH less than before surgery! I could pack away a whole pizza myself within an hour before..no joke!

LOL ... yeah, a large pizza would have been no problem for me pre-op. Luckily I'm not very fond of pepperoni so I dont think I'll ever try that. My favorite though is vegetarian and then hawaiin so that will be my good protein topping treat!!
I'm too scared to try chinese still, I hear it has alot of sugar in it?? I'll wait until I'm a little longer out, cuz although I like chicken and brocolli, my favorite is teriyaki chicken and black bean chicken .... mmmmmm !!
