Anyone getting 'snacky'?

Hello Everyone, I haven't posted in so long, I'm sorry! Had a down computer for awhile, and it's taken me some time to get back into it. But I've been reading, and you guys are so inspiring to me! And my heart is right there with those that are struggling, too. Since some of you like the pics, I thought I would mention that I just updated my profile last weekend, and I have posted some pics. It is so amazing what this surgery can do for us! I have a question. Just recently, I have been having such urges to snack! And I have been giving in to some of those urges. I'll have a couple of chips, or a tiny slice of those little Totino's pizza's, or s/f pudding, or s/f cookies, or a bit of almond butter. All instead of eating dinner. Sometimes it's so hard to want to eat protein. Does anyone else have this problem? I have to say, this last week was my time of the month; does that make a difference? The scale is still going down, but I don't want to start any bad habits. I'm scared. I was doing so well, and now I feel like it can slip through my fingers. Sorry to dump this on you all. I am just feeling so out of control. What is wrong with me?? Thank you so much for any help/advice/commiseration. Lisa 360/345/262/160

Hi Lisa, Boy, I know that feeling. I had surgery the same date as you. My surgery date is wrong from the profile. Every since last week, my full appitite has been back. Every time I open the frig, I want something. TOday I vowed not to snack. I was having a lot of trouble getting in meals. I would open the frig and just take a bit of this or that. I hope someone gives us both some good advice!! Today was a good day of no snacks. I was conscious of the problem and swore I wouldnt' do it. GOoooood luck, El

Hey Lisa - I'm totally feeling you on this one. A few of this, a few of that, etc. I've started bringing in more healthy things in case I have the need to snack. A handful of pistachios or nuts have some protein and satisfy the need for salty. Check with your doctor though to see if you can have nuts. I've also set a rule for myself - do something good before something bad. If I want bit of something bad I have to have a protein shake first. Or, take a vitamin and drink some water - then I have to wait 20 minutes after the water to eat so I don't stretch my pouch. If I do allow myself to give in - it's only a bite or two for the taste then get rid of it. Hope it helps. Cheers, Lynn

Hi Lisa, I just looked at your profile and pics, you look wonderful Now as for the snacking, yes and I can't stand myself for it either. But I can't change what I did all I can do is NOT do it anymore. Just last night I went through my fidge and cabinets and threw all kinds of crap out. If it's not here, I won't want it or eat it!! Try that!! Go through your groceries and get rid of things that you would snackon. Except fruit, salads and foods like that. Good luck, I need it too Cheri

Lisa- Your pictures look fabulous! Congratulations! I too have had the urge to snack. I try and avoid it- or put in a little protein with the snack (low fat cheese on crackers etc.). I also use Minute Maid lite lemondae as a buffer (it counts as liquid intake and still feels like a treat). I also try not to have anything bad in the house-- except maybe a sugar free ice pop (also liquid). Hang in there! Andrea

Lisa You are looking great. Congrats on your weigh loss you have done an awesome job I also have that snack thing going on. I eat a few almonds or pork rinds but they both have lots of fat eventhough there is protein. I try to keep busy or drink something when I feel the urge. I do the best I can with it. As long as you eat healthy snacks and eat a small portion If you still have the need for more than drink lots of water or crystal light or anything that you are allowed to drink 1/2 hour later I think you might be OK? It works for me. Take a walk when you feel hungry. Like Cheri said throw out anything that is bad for you. If its not there you want crave it. Be careful of those carbs and fat The bad carbs and fat I mean. Carbs from fruits and veges are good all others bad They are what makes you crave more sugars. When Aunt Flo comes to visit its the worse for me too. That is when I feel like giving into the urges. I eat sf jello and sf popsicles. I drink extra fluids. I chew sf gum. Well that my 2 1/2 cents worth I hope it helped a little Hugs Pam

Especially snacking at night.,.,, YUCK Made a high protein snack dip shredded chicken strips- LO CAL cream cheese blended w/ PROTEIN Powder. a little hot sauce mixed in the cream cheese. NO SALT NACHO CHIPS I am cheating but getting some protein in at the same time... so srrrryyyyyy

Thank you so much everyone!! It's so nice to know that I am not alone in this. I have been feeling so bad about it. I will try to respond to each of you, but don't have time at the moment.
