How much do you eat?
I'm not sure how much I eat, but I guess its around 700 -800 calories depending on how hungry I am.
I stay away from fat and processed carbs, all my carbs come from veggies, FF refried beans, red potatoes and sour cream. That is the only carbs I've eaten since I've been out.
The only fat I've had sofar is from smoked almonds, I went through a craving last week where I was eating 2oz a day, everday day!!
Thats about it ... they say there is this great program called fitday.com that everyone raves about, but I dont use it cuz you cant edit food or quantities.
Hope that helps a little.

Marlize? You can edit quantities and foods in Fitday.... I do it all the time....
Ok, I just did my average from August 3 to now on Fitday- here it is:
Calories: 619 (too low)
Fats: 22gr (higher than I want)
Carbs: 40gr (higher than I want)
Protein: 67gr (about right)
The thing about fats is that your body NEEDS fat- trust me! But not saturated fat. That's what you should pay the most attention to. We all know that things like nuts and avocados have a lot of fat, but they are the good kind of fat. It is good to have them in moderation.
Michelle,
I know you can change the quantities on the food that you select from the list, but I make almost all my food homemade and it doesnt allow me to edit ingredients or ingredient quantity for my custom food ... it only lets you edit the nutrional value, and of course I have no clue what that is ...
If I was doing it wrong and you can do that, maybe I was just having a blonde moment. Would you mind emailing me and letting me know how what and where. I would like to keep track of my food in that way, but because I couldnt edit my custom food, I stopped using it!
Thanks,
Marlize
Hi All
Fitday.com is the best site. It is a great way to monitor your eating. Like Michele I use it all the time. I do not eat any beans, potatoes, bread, oatmeal basically I stay completely away fromn starches. I get most of my carbs from vegges. Protein I get from chicken and fish. Still can not eat red meat. I am not suppose to use protein supplements (drinks or bars ) per my surgeon but I do it anyway on days I just do not get enough protein. (Don't tell my surgeon)
I do find that I can eat much more than before. Does everyone else find that too?
That is what works (or doesnt work) for me
Hugs
Pam
Hi Pam,
I get most of my protein from turkey and chicken since I got sick on fish and are now very wary of red meat.
I drink protein shakes, but no protein bars to date. I'm supposed to be on the pureed stage until my 3 month post-op visit, but I've also been eating turkey jerkey and almost all my food is soft and smushy but not pureed. (Dont tell my surgeon!!)
I eat more too now, especially in the evenings, I'll eat half a cup of food and then two hours later another half a cup where before I was satisfied with just half a cup for dinner and that's it.
N e ways, I think we are all doing so great ... whether we are "moderate" loosers or slow loosers ... we will all do it!!
Marlize
You guys,
it is so wierd. Sometimes I can barely eat two bites, but I find I can eat a whole taco at taco bell. YIKES! And then like I made a mexican omelate sp? and ate like an egg and a half worth of that! Dang! Then I can only eat like 1 oz of chicken and get sick. Tuna gets stuck too. I hate the protein shakes, but I think I had better start drinking them anyways. Me and food are just having a bad relationship lately (again). And if I eat a thin slice piece of pizza, I can eat a WHOLE PIECE! Of course, I don't do that often.
I think I usually stay around 700 calories
No idea on protein, a guess? 40-60 grams
carbs usually under 40 a day
