Well, I am sorry I have not been very active here lately. I think I am feeling a little better today. I went to my monthly Barix Support meeting this past Saturday and one of the girls brought in some of her old clothes for me. I told her thank you and said that they probably wouldn't fit me for awhile, WELL......today I tried on the pants, a little snug, but they actually went on! Some of the tops fit too! Here is the best part, they are a size 3x.....A SIZE 3X, can you beleive it? I can't...So now I have been going through my closet...it is like a fashion show, I am trying everything on and each time I am amazed at how they fit. I am still going to wear my 5X pants for awhile because I don't think the 3x shows off that I have lost weight...know what I mean? I was wondering what I was going to do for winter coming up for clothes, and now I have all these clothes, well shirts, I only have about 2 pair of pants for 4x and 3 for 3x......man oh man....... I only wish I had taken measurements before surgery...I did today though... Thanks for all the words of encouragment everyone has given me through this rough spot...you all are such great support Mandie

Way to go Mandie, a definite WOW moment. I forgot to take measurements also and wish I had. Sue 273/261/199/150

Way to go Mandie, you're doing awesome. I know exactly what you mean. If you wear clothes that are too big, you will look like you're losing or lost weight. If you wear clothes that are too tight, you look like your just heavy or have gained weight. I still wear clothes that are a little too big yet, just becuase they make me feel so good about my accomplishments. I'm kinda in between my "fat" clothes and "skinny" clothes (another 10-15 pounds I'll be in my "skinny" clothes)so I am checking out the goodwill tonight after work. I went to my 3 month check up last week and the nurse commented on my shirt being too big. I told her I refuse to be one of these WLS patients that wear clothes that are way too tight just becuase they fit. Sounds harsh but there should be a rule, just because you can doesn't mean you should...hehe.

I do know what you mean about wanting to wear bigger clothes. I was in the same spot for a while. I wore an outfit that actually fit correctly to church a few weeks ago, and got SO many compliments, that I've decided to get rid of all my "fat" clothes. So now I'm wearing just my "semi-fat" clothes! LOL I'm also afraid I've become one of those, "give me a tight shirt to wear" type people. LOL I FINALLY have a waist line, and dangit - I'm gonna show it off! But I PROMISE... everything is covered, and all rolls are neatly tucked away! HUGS Kimberly

I just tried on the smallest clothes that I've had tucked away this weekend. They fit and now I'm going to have to figure out what comes next. Winter's coming....my hubby said that my coat would make a nice tent for the two of us! I've gotten rid of 3 loads of clothes, and now that the weather's getting cooler I'm going to have to seriously think about my clothing situation. As for the "fat" clothes, they're mostly all gone. I've got a few comfy shirts I keep around but I couldn't keep the pants up anymore. And I too am excited over finally having a waistline. I think I'm going on a hunt this weekend to some of the thrift stores to see what i can come up with, also have been watching ebay for any good buys. Oh, and by the way, I've posted a new pic of me taken yesterday. Kaitlain

Kaitlain... DEFINATELY lookin' good! I find it amazing how much different I looked at 186 post surgery, as compare to 186 just dieting. I had reached that goal at one point years and years ago, but I swear I wasn't in this small of clothing. I never got past an 18, 16 if LUCKY - but they were expensive 16's. Know what I mean? Now, at 179, I can squeeze into a 14 and actually wore a medium shirt today, a size I haven't seen since high school. TOO COOL! Keep up the great work, and keep posting those pics! HUGS Kimberly

Mandie, I'm going through the same thing with cloths now too. All the new outfits I bought cause I knew sooner or later I would get into them, well I do now but it looks like I'm too fat for them and all my in-between cloths es are way to big. I spent alot of money between me and hubby losing together and he's losing much faster than me so today is his day for shoppimg again. We both agreed that jogging clothes would probably be better for him right now and also a few for me until we can get into what we have in the closet. I have a few outfits that are brand new I bought from Catherines I wish I could get them to you, they are a size 30 to 32 and would fit you. I think I'm in a size 22 to 24 now. I can't wait to be a comfortable size 18 to 20 then I'll be able to wear and look good in all my new clothes. I took measurments at Curves on the 18th os Sep. so the 18th of this month I'll post my new measurments. HUGS, Cheri
