But how are your legs--- Can you sit down without collapsing?
It's great that you worked out and you are moving! Kudos!
TAKE IT EASY! My best friend from high school is college coach-- She is always reminding me that it took me a long time to get de-conditioned, so I can't expect to suddenly swim a mile like I did ten years ago.
If it helps, find a personal trainer that has experience with rehab or getting people moving for the first time. Be very adamant that you want to start slowly.
I went to personal trainers before the surgery. The next few days I was in so much pain I couldn't move-- and I never went back. This time I was VERY selective in my trainer. We started out very slowly-- for the first three sessions, I wondered if I was improving, and then the fourth week he (as Emeril would say) kicked up a notch. The response-- I was sore, but good sore and it seems to be working.
Again Tim- SOOO glad you joined a gym!

I agree! I went to a personal trainer just today as a matter of fact. I'm not sore....yet.... and I don't think I will be from today. She basically did an assessment to see where I'm at.
Personally, I need a personal trainer because I don't know what the hell I'm doing. It would be JUST like me to join the gym, do 17 reps on each machine, run on the treadmill for 2 hours and do the eliptical for 90 minutes. Then I would crawl out of the place saying "exercise is not for me" and never go back. We MUST start slow. Our muscles have been sleeping for a long time. We have to gently wake them back up.
Good for you for getting out there and doing it Tim..... just GO SLOW!!!
How the heck are you? By the way I got the fit day software-- totally addicted.
Thanks for the tip. My big takeaway after a week of logging-- My calories are way below what they should be.... (averaging 600 or so), but my protein is a bit low, but not terrible-- I think I am going to try to increase a bit anyway.
HAVE TO ASK: IS it not the worse pain ever after working legs out when you sit on the toilet and then try to get up... OUCHCCCCCCC! The things my mom never told me about.. THat is the hardest part after my work out and walking.. MY Buttocks I swear want to meet my ankles the muscles get so soar.. MORE PROTEIN>>> to mend them....
You will have to take a pic of the biceps in a few weeks... popeye...
