For Women-- Increasing Cramping?
Hi Andrea,
I never really had cramps until after I had my son, then all hell broke lose. It was like catch up time for all my lost years...and I have had a "cycle" since I was ten years old, and I am 35 now. But I have noticed that I get REALLY BAD lower back aches and more cramping now since I have lost some weight...also I have noticed that I am on a more regular cycle...about every 28 days. I think part of it being more regular now is because of all the vitamins now in me, I NEVER took vitamins before surgery. I also only have it about 4 days, if that.

I KNOW THE FEELING! It is worse now than ever and HEavier than ever...
I just went through 36 hours of Ovulation...UGHHH pain on my side.. But a tylenol helped.. ALso when younger two days before I would get AF I could not sleep and had a powerful headache... THAT IS ALL BACK since the weight loss.
Now I know why I had to sign a waver NOT to get pregnant the first year after weight loss Surg. However, they failed to mention the return of Painful Menstrual Cycle.. did not even prepare me.. However, I will live through it.,.. the weight comes off still.
Hot Tea and a Tylenol during.

Thanks Pattiann-
Good to know this isn't just my imagination.....
I took a hot bath, sat with a ho****er, took tylenol-- nothing-- I finally took a 1/2 Vicodin left over from surgery-- and that seemed to do the trick.
I am going to query surgeon at the 3mo. followup.. He's a man, so he probably won't relate-- but oh well.
Regards,
Andrea
Hi All,
Andrea, I wanted to mention that I also have been experiencing this and thought I was the only one. I also have as many overweight women have what is called PCOS (polycystic ovarian sundrome) when you mentioned that your periods where becoming more normal, it is probably because your hormones are normalizing not because of vitamins (although vitamins are great in general) lots of women who are overweight have hormonal probelms (that weight loss helps to correct) that they may not be aware of. I started to get those oh so heavy like clock work periods again and crazy cramps and backpain so I feel your pain ladies.
By the way, if anyone is interested in finding out more about PCOS here are two great sites
www.pcosupport.org
www.soulcysters.com
there is also a board on obesity for women with PCOS as well
I hear Motrin is bad for us after WLS? anyone know about this one
