Picture trail question?
ok...I have noticed that many of you have links to pictures and they have a partial address of ........picturetrail......can someone explain to me how to get a free account to have my pictures available to friends and family? I use to have a free website that was offered through Davenport University for students but they got rid of these accounts a little over a year ago. I understand how to upload pictures and all for use with email and even to use the FTP, but I am wondering about free accounts for easy picture access. Does anyone have any ideas?

P.S. I thought I did a pretty good job with my website too, I have all the info on disks and would love to put it back online. I had pictures of me throughout the years, and weight loss links, issues, etc.
I've never used Picturetrail, but I've used others. You just go to the site and sign up, and they should explain how to do everything. When you put a picture in your email, you're actually sending a copy of it from your computer. When you use a picture from an online host (such as Picturetrail) you're not actually sending the picture, but rather, sending the location of the picture. (after you've uploaded them from your computer, that is, which you only have to do once for each pictures) All pictures have to be hosted somewhere online in order to put them on a webpage.
Does this help?
Thank you, yes you did help me some, but I still wonder where I can send the pictures to. For instance the server I had before for the website I created was through ISERV, then Davenport got rid of all the free accounts they allowed students to have when they were in their "downsizing" phase. I mean I know how to upload it, pictures, backgrounds, and to do the HTML, and etc - with a little help from my book still, but where can I get an account that is trustworthy to send my info to and the people who would view pictures wouldn't get a bunch of pop-ups and junk, Know what I mean? I hope I am making sense. For example to send the picture to Obesity Help is great because they usually are quick (3 or 4 days to add picture), but if I had my own web address I could just link the picture in my profile page - update HTML in the journal area - and it would be that much quicker, and I could change more often.....yadda yadda yadda....

Thank you Nancy...
I had some pictures I sent to walgreens.com and picked up at my local walgreens...they have the same type of thing too.
We are getting DSL internet service thru Charter and part of their package is set up to come with a free web page account so I can't wait to use it... Right now we pay 21.95 for msn (terrible dial up, slow, get kicked off, etc....) Through charter it will be 29.99 a month for 6 months then 41.95...it will be worth it though. My husband teaches Political Science at a local community college, and I take classes at Davenport University, which we have to get online for some of them, and it is frustrating trying to do anything and hoping nobody tries to call...
Anyway..thank you for the info
