"Slow" losers--- post here!
Thyroid problems? No
Protein drinks? Mostly get my protein from milk and chicken
have I been eating sugary foods? No, stay away from all that I have tried some sugar free candies that have sugar alcohol in them which causes me to get the "diareaha"
Dumping? Today was the first day....awful...I have learned my lesson!!! NO BREAD FOR MANDIE FOR AWHILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do take Iron supplements daily, which causes constipation so I just tried Milk of Magnesium last night, seemed to help some.
Take my daily chewable vitamins!!

Here's my answers to this second set of questions.
Do any of you have thyroid problems or anything else that might contribute to the slow weight loss. No, it was checked prior.
Are you drinking whey protein or soy protein drinks? Yes, some times more regular than others. When I am and am not doesn't seem to corralate at all to when I am loosing and not.
What kind of supplements are you taking? I was taking Bariatric Advantage. But I switch to Centrum this month. I also take a B-12 every Sunday. And my Dr. has me taking 2 pills to avoid ulcers.
Have you been eating sugary foods, if so do you dump? I have totally avoided any sugary foods. I have dumped though - the first time I had a can of soup without looking at the suger (had 16 grams of sugar I think) This was early on.. I have since learned my lesson! LOL! Then I dumped once on some over ripe cantelope.
Have you had any side effects of teh surgery like dumping, vomiting, constipation, nausea? constipation. I seem to be able to control it by getting in fruits about once a day minimum. And dumping on sugar as said above.
As I said in my previous post- I think water and some sporadic exercise this month are the reasons for my extra slow loss of only 11 lbs.
I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one out there, its kinda depressing, but helps knowing you guys can relate!! Thanks for this post Michelle!!

I hope to be feeling as good as the rest of ya'll in about a month or so!!
I had graves disease (hyperthyroid) lost weight rapidly and had to have thyroid destroyed, was going to maintain the weight loss after iodine treatment but got hit by a truck 2 weeks later and broke my shoulder with total dislocation and 2 surgeries.....sooo..back the weight came. I think my lack of thyroid has my metabolism slow therefore my slow healing and slow weight loss. what do ya think?

How are you feeling now? I feel great!
OK at first I was so happy that you started this thread!! Then I started to realized I have lost less than anyone in the slow loosers group! I think I know why my loss was so little this month (-11 this month almost all at the beginning of the month). I went back to work and getting in water was really HARD because I am so busy. (It's gotten better now). And I missed a ton of work out days due to adjusting to my work schedule and just plain time issues. I am pretty sure I have worked out this problem too.
I wonder if it is possible to loose more in the 3rd month than the 2nd month? I feel like loosing only 11 lbs this month that I have "missed an opportunity" because I know the first couple of month is suppose to be the biggest losses. I am dying to get under 200 lbs. BUt it looks like at this rate it might be a couple of months still. I was so sure I was going to be within 7-8 lbs of 200 at this point.
On the bright side: I am feeling great! And I have lost 42 lbs overall. (Including pre-op) It's kind of hard to complain too much.
Hugs to all!
Well, there had to be somebody that has lost the "least amount" in the slow loser's group-- I'm sorry it is you because I know how that feels!! BUT- I'm a week ahead of you and I've not lost much more than you so take heart!
I wanted to post Caroline Martin's weight log. She has been a real inspiration to me, and I hope others too.
http://abutterflyemerges.com/Measurements.htm
Scroll down a bit and look at her weight log per month. She was "only" losing 5% of her total weight per month in the beginning, and even less as the months went by. But look at her now!!!!
I think we are going to laugh at ourselves for wasting so much time worrying when we look back on these days a year from now. Really.
