I wanted to know if I eat the wrong things (chips, nachos, cake) things like that but I drink tons of water afterwords I'm I flushing the calories out too? NOT that I'm doing this but just wondering! There are days that I eat healthy and don't wait the 30 min after to drink and I'm not really that hungry later but I didn't know what happens to the fat and calories if it's enough time for my body to absorb all of it nor not! Any ideas????

Your body is not going to absorb all of the fat and calories because of the malabsorption part of the bypass. But it will still absorb some. The danger in drinking water to flush the bad stuff out is that you could stretch out your pouch, and if you eat carbs it will make you crave more. And as you get further out you WILL be hungry sooner if you flush the food out. I know you said you're not doing this, and I hope you're not thinking about doing it because you will only be hurting yourself. Personally, I think it's ok to allow yourself a couple of chips or nachos, or a couple of bites of cake if you're craving it (and you don't dump from sugar!). Otherwise, you will feel deprived and that leads to bingeing. Moderation is the key- and I have always been satisfied and never felt deprived with just a couple of bites. Just do your best to make good food choices the rest of the time or you'll be right back where you started eventually.

I agree with Michelle- from my experience- I ADMIT I cannot say no to cheesecake.. I Gave up the bread- chips pretzels- wheat thins and carb stuff... However, I am guilty of nibbling cheesecake on more than one occassion... I have a very small satisfying sliver and savor every taste... However, I then eat healthy.. stuff I never dreamed of eating like- beans-spinach- broccoli- cauliflower etc... I nibble them most of the time...for the vitamins... I eat protein first all of it!!!!!! then move to vegs and a little fruit... I cheat on Soups at lunch to help boost the liquid intake but then have a power bar to make up for lost protein... I have a taste of potatoes, ad protein powder to mashed potatoes with water... The pasta in a healthy choice gets eaten last and I can never finish.. IN MY WILDEST dreams - I could never do that before this surgery... Good lUCK... The weight comes off.. But we have to nutrition now...
