Not losing weight in stomach area?
Hi everyone!
I have lost at least 40 pounds so far (I don't have a scale to weigh regularly) and I am thrilled with that but I don't think I am losing weight in my stomach. I need a new pair of pants but when I went and tried some on that were a size 18 they were loose in the legs and tight around the stomach. I am still restricted in what stomach exercises I can do until three months post op but I am allowed to do light workouts. Any suggestions or anyone going through the same thing?
Thanks everyone,
Elizzabeth

Not much advice coming from me. My stomach is a big (no pun intended) problem too. I'd say just give it time. Alot of people lose the weight in different places first, but eventually things will catch up with each other. Hang in there! You may just have to try a different style of pants for a month.
It's pretty sad that that's the best advise I have!
Someone help her please! I just don't have the strength to continue.....
Yes, I'm in a corny mood tonite - and it has nothing to do with alcohol!

Elizabeth--
I am a stomach pooch person too-- I think we just have to wait. I have been getting pants with some stretch in them, or just wearing pants a bit. It will happen if we hang in there!
In terms of exercise, once you can do them, my trainer encourages core strengthening exercises (pilates-type). It works the inner tummy muscles, and is supposed help with balance, agility, as well as tightening up the tummy from the inside. They are pretty easy to do--- but wait until your surgeon says "OK"
Best of luck-

I would bet on the fact that my stomach (er..... abdomen, to be anatomically correct!) area is still swollen! I mean- it pooches out so weirdly--- it must be air or excess fluids in there....it can't be fat!
Oh well. When it finally deflates, that will be good. Notice I said WHEN, not IF.
Hang in there!
I'm in the same boat. Have lost 2 sizes in the top and bottom except my big belly -so have to keep wearing the beginning size or the 1 size smaller which are both really really baggie in the legs. I figure that will be the last to go. I have lost 47.5 so far and maybe another 20 and I can wear the smaller pants. I am grateful for the smaller top though-woohoo. Luci
