I am a little over 2 mos post op. I have lost 51lbs so far. I can tell my weight loss is slowing down. I am just scared that it will stop. I have never been used to losing weight before. What kinds of things are you guys eating?? How are you getting your protein??? Sometimes I feel like I am losing too slow, but then I read other posts and realize that I am kind of in line with everyone else. Any suggestions would be great..

Well, Melissa, my surgery was on July 5, and you have lost as much weight as I have, soooo..... I'd say you are doing pretty great! I'm eating albacore right now (the Starkist brand in the 3 oz foil pouch). I also use protein powder, and cottage cheese (NF), and lean turkey, and almonds, and FF chili and FF refried beans.... and... and.... so much variety! I hope that helps! Keep up the great work! Lori

Hi Meliissa, I think of alot of people go through the blues but you'll get threw them. Your weight loss is pretty good. Your doing as good as the rest of us. You have to remeber everyone is different and we all lose at our own rate so don't jugde yourself to harshly ok? I eat my protien daily, vitamins and calcium too. I eat alot of fruit, ff. sf popcycles. ff. pretzels. lean quezines for dinner. Popcorn, alot of salads. I eat them the most. I try not to eat no more than 800 calories a day. I know this is only a tool and sooner or later they say that just about everyone gains their weight back if they don't learn how to eat right now. So I'm teaching myself to do that now and of course excersize. i just joined curves for women. You won't stop losing trust me we all go through a slump ok Your doing good. Cheri

Melissa I felt the same... And the doc told me I exceeded their expectations with a weightloss of 41lbs at 6 weeks.. YOUR DOING GREAT>>>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They did tell me to eat 6 times a day instead of 3... They encouraged more protein= ad two protein shakes.. Funny how a little makes us want more. When I left the doc I felt like I was way ahead.. before i went - I thought I should have lost more. There is a chart on the site to see where you are and estimates an average. Check it out.. Also I measure inches in between the weightloss stalls... It helps boost my confidence... HUGS and CONGRATS your doing great...

When I went for a checkup at 8 weeks, I was bummed about being a "slow loser" and I had lost 30 pounds by then. They said I was doing great!! Funny thing is- this last week 7 pounds fell off- yes 7! I don't know where they went, and I didn't do anything differently- but hey, I'll take it! I drink protein drinks when I need to up my protein, otherwise, I concentrate on eating protein; hamburger, chicken and turkey, low fat cheese, ff cottage cheese, Beef Jerky, etc. Honestly, I think you're doing great! Oh, and hi Lori!!

Melissa, I've hit 2 stalls already. I'm about ready for this next one to be over with!!! GRR I know it's frustrating, but you WILL continue to lose. Don't worry about that at this point. There's not really any way we can't lose right now. It's later down the road that we have to be careful. Keep doing what you are doing - listen to the other posts here - and keep the faith! It's gonna happen! You are a couple of pounds ahead of me! So I think we are all doing just fine! It won't stop! PROMISE! HUGS Kimberly

Melissa, I know exactly how you feel, I had my surgery on the 25th of July and have only lost 27 pounds. I am taking in my protein and food, I thought the weight loss would be faster, but my nutristtionist said I'm right on track, she said about 2 pounds per week is good. I know lately I have been feeling hungry at night so I drink water or something and maybe eat some ff pretzels. Good Luck Lori

Melissa we have the same surgery date! I am doing well. I have lost 62 lbs but hit a plateau for atleast 1 week every other. I to can tell its slowing down but I feel that's expected. I love crackers and cheese. I also love South beach diet bars. They have 10 grams of protein each. I don't care for the powder protein so I have not been doing any of it. I can eat cheese pizza, thin crust. Good luck and hang in there. Email me if I can help!
