Hi everyone I have been very frustrated with this. I have been at the same weight for almost 3 weeks now. 2 lbs (sometimes 3lbs) away from Onederland. Its driving me nuts. Anyone have any ideas on how to break the plateau? I am getting about 60 to 80 grams of protein Eating between 500 and 700 cals a day I eat lean meats and grean leafy veges. Salads ect. Carbs are below 20 grams Fats below 15 g Excercising 3 - 4 days at curves and 2 -3 days walking 2 miles. Drinking about 3 liters of water a day All suggestions welcome Please I need your help. Thanks for all you wonderful support hugs Pam

Yep- you're not eating enough! I'm serious. My surgeon told me to get in about 1,000 calories a day. Your body thinks it's starving and is reserving all fats and resources for the famine. EAT, girl! Don't count the fats or carbs for a couple of days. YOU'RE STARVING!!!!

Michele I have tried to eat more because I thought thre same thing. The 500-700 cals is just an average. I have tried eating 900 cals one day with out counting. Thought that would break the evil spell. NOPE did not work. SIGH. I might need a magic wand LOL.... Only kidding I know it will come off sooner or later but sooner would be nice. Thanks for your support hugs Pam

Well just one day is not going to do it! You need to do it for a few days. Trust me. Maybe make a chart like I have at the bottom of my profile? That sure helps me when I think I'm "losing so slowly". If it makes you feel any better, you have lost more than me post op!

Michele We all lose at different paces, we are different heights and different ages. I know I lose slower because I am older (almost 50) and I am 55 lbs to goal. I am very pleased with my weight loss to date. Its just those few pounds over 200 that I have been anxiously waiting to disappear that have got my goat. I am not into the race at all !! I know I lose slow and I am really OK with that just want these frigin few pounds to leave already I think once I get over this hump. I will not be so frustrated. I am not really not suppose to even use protein supplements (as per my surgeons instructions) but I do anyway because I know there is no way I can get the protein in by eating. hugs Pam

Well I'm almost 48 so you can't pull that age card on me LOL! I understand how frustrating it must be. You have my sympathy!

I had the exact same problem as you, about a 3 week frame where I was stuck at a 5 lb range. I increased my exercise (walking for 1 hr 4 times a week) and increased my protein (around 80-90 grams a day from ~60 or so) and it's finally dropping again. Good luck to you!!!

Thanks William I can try and add another day of excercise. I already walk 2 to 3 times a week about 45 mins. I go to the gym the other days (curves) also 3 times a week. I drink 2 protein shakes with Mootopia for extra protein and calories. Thanks for the suggestion Pam

Oh and another point, try and keep your protein at about 30 grams or less every 3 hrs or more. If you eat it too close together or too much at a setting you'll just pass it through and not absorb it.

Pam, You could also be gaining a little muscle to replace some of that fat. I bet you are losing as many inches! Hang in there girl! HUGS Kimberly
