I DONT THINK I'M LOOSING
Hi,
I had my surgery on July 26,2 weeks after surgery I lost 21lbs,I see doctor thursday and I dont think I have lost anymore....can this really happen,I am not eating alot,I cant,I do eat pretzels instead of breads, and I know that isnt on my diet but sometimes I just feel like I need to eat them, there is no way I am over eating I had the gastric by-pass,my clothes are hanging off of me but I just feel like it isnt coming off fast enough,I guess I'll feel better or worse after I see the doctor t omorow,I am very depressed, any suggestions...has this happened to anyone else ??
Hi, That happened to me I lost 20lbs within the first 10 days then nothing for like weeks. My doctor said my body was in shock and trying to conserve. I eventaully started losing again although it is slow. I have lost 39lbs now in 9weeks. The upside to that is not losing so fast hopefully I will not ave the skin issue that so many WLS patients have. My doctor says I am right on track and my loss is average.
Hi Tami
thanks for the responce,,i just needed to know i was not alone,i guess loosing slow is better than not loosing at all..my sister in law lost 52 lbs her first 2 months and i cant get that out of my head,i have a problem with the protein shakes.I HATE THEM !! but i need to get more protein in me thats for sure,i am sure my body is in shock too hell i abused it for years..i feel better knowing i'm not alone..good luck and lots of success to you
i'm sure i'll feel better tomorrow after my appointment
I had my surgery 7/25 and I have lost about 38 lbs so far... I lost only 4 lbs between week 3 & 5 and almost died ! Now I seem to only be loosing about 3 lbs a week. I too have problems w/ protien. The milky tasting shakes make me feel nausiated ( even w/ soy milk) and the protein fruit drinks are so nasty it takes nearly all day to finish one. Im also not a big meat, cheese, or egg eater - probably why Adkins never worked for me- I used to eat a lot of pasta, rice, and veggie dishes... so you can imagine my canundrum.... not much left to eat that has alot of protein.
I also know I need to get my water in and that would help - but it takes literally 7 hours to drink 16 oz of a protein drink - it leaves little time to get your water in. Sigh - so Im right there w/ you hon ... keep your chin up.. Im sure by the end of the year well both be sporting new bodies .
Hugs ~ Aly
