I don't think it's working
I had surgery on the same day you did and I lost about 35 pounds and then bang, nothing for the last 8 days. Its actually gone up by 1/2 a pound this morning! (Waaah.) BUT I did have my period in the last week as well and for some reason (it happened last month as well) - everything slows down 'bout then...
I started at 228 and I'm now 193.5.
It is very frustrating but I think we need to quit looking at the scale and keep doing what is right: For me that's about 75 grams of protein a day and at least 64 ozs. of water. I'm trying REALLY hard to keep to the right foods. Sometimes it's difficult - especially when I am now getting hungry! The 100 calorie "Snack Packs" at Walmart are great for protein snacks... I love the Cheese Nips.
I bought a gazelle yesterday. I have tried the YMCA and found I didn't like it much and probably would not go as often as I thought I would. I do like walking though and do that. All the OH Library (menu above) questions and answers about plateaus advise the same thing: be patient; let your body adjust.
Let's keep smiling ladies! We are amazing women and we will get through this too!
You're doing great!! Don't stress too much. I had surgery a week after you and am down 24 pounds (50 as of today including presurgery diet****rtainly hoped I would have lost more, but here I am. Just focus on the positive - the slower you lose, the more time your skin has to adjust and react. Slow and steady wins the race, the whole tortise and the hair thing. Try to stay positive, it WILL come off.
Cheers,
Lynn
Oh, I guess I need to hang out here more. I almost cried myself to sleep last night worrying. I have lost 26 pounds since surgery, and I feel that is soooooo slow and am constantly whining about it. LOL. It seems that most of us feel the same way. *sigh* We don't have any choice but to keep hanging in there, do we?

Tammy-
I had my surgery July 18, and was down 35 lbs-- BUT the last week I lost a lot of weight because I had a C-dif infection---- lot's of trips to the bathroom and I was crying because I thought my life would be like this after the surgery forever. I was so dehydrated I almost went to the emergency room for fluids and was scared to eat anything. TRUST ME I would rather be a slow loser than go through that again. I couldn't exercise, I couldn't leave my house, it was awful
This week I gained 2lbs. back and I am healthy again. I'll take the slow loss!
Think of where you would be if you DIDN'T have the surgery. Your doing great!
